Lets say Tom Kaye or a potentiol Customer comes in the chat room and wants a gun for under $500. Whats the best gun to get?

Why should they get an Automag? (I always forget, Each one is designed to last a minimum of 300 years.)

Theres a special in the store. $245 What does this gun need?

http://store.airgun.com/acb/showprod.cfm?&DID=17&CATID=19&ObjectGroup_ID=48

http://store.airgun.com/agdprod/images/markers/classic_std_sml.jpg

What does this gun need?

Air. How about a Pure Energy 3000 PSI for $70 or CO2 with Anti Siphon $40?

Drop forward Cradle? $70? What kind?

That leaves about $100.

How about SS hose and a 90? How long? $20.

That leaves what about $80 for a 12 inch barrel? What Kind would you get? I think the barrel should be black.

The one thing I learned working in a computer store is people know how much they want to spend and they have a budget. Last thing you want to do is say Buy an Xmag or a fiberwrap.

You should also know that because people know how much they want to spend doesn't mean they won't spend more....It's easy.

Thats True. AT that point they are directed to a sales person.

The sales person will tell them basically that they cannot get a good PC or gun for $500 and that for $1000 they can get a top of the line EMAG or PC.

I guess the person should know if they can afford that. If they cant and are put off by the sales person they will lose the sale and go somewhere else.

Also if they spend $1000 that they dont have the will just sell the said Item.

I was a software specialist at a computer store and not a salesperson. The people that had the lowest sales of the store were corporate Sales and coincedently they had the highest salary.

DOnt know the answer. Thats why Im asking the question.

Anyway I hear the same question over and over in the chat room. Can I get a gun for $500...

Black 12 inch or 14 inch Teardrop barrel.

$59.

Knowing the market is a major thing in buying as you should know. So knowing that you could most likely get an RT-Pro with a tank and a few barrels for about 500 is something very good indeed to know, a stock RT-PRO is only 540, and a very good classic deal could go for 350ish. :D

Hmmm let's see

TKO PF Mag (Supposed to come with a Barrel,Gas Through,Bottomline, and Macro Kit)
280
12Vt Xboard Revy
50
Pbgear 47 3K Tank
75
Conquest Warrior Goggles
20
AO Barrel Sock
8
Armson Elbow
4

=437

Everything new from Pbgear.com (some hate them and some love them but they do seem to have good pricing)

Not the way I'd go but hey it's under 500 and you should have enough left over to buy 2 9vts and play a day of paintball.

Thanks Barry.

The RT Pro is in the store at $750 but it has additional Air Upgrade features and it comes with everything but air. The RT PRO IS NOT COMPATABLE WITH CO2.

On the open market Rt Pro's seem to be running for about 540 (give or take) and I believe that folks were getting Xvalves in them.

So for 540 you get the Retro Trigger, Level 10, and and Iframe.

Seems like a better investment to me as about the only thing some people would say is missing would be a ULE body.

But as you already pointed out you do have to run a Compressed Air tank on a RT valve and that 47CI tank isn't going to last very long(maybe 550 shots) - shoot a 3K 68CI tank isn't much better(I'd say around 900 shots - give or take 100)

I would say to get equiped out with an RT Pro and a decent Tank and all the fixins (Hopper,Mask,Pods - yeah you will need to carry around extra paint with an RT Pro) you would be looking at close to 800-900 dollars.

Of course it just comes down to what people want to invest. I think the RT Pro is a very good buy in a mechanical marker seeing as very little needs to be added(ULE body isn't NEEDED just nice :) )

I found the cheapest classic's on the internet. I swear.

Airgun Designs Markers (http://paintballgateway.com/airgundesigns.html)

Okay a standard feed for $185.00. Dang with the money you saved you can get a ULE body!!

Okay a powerfeed left is $199.95. Whoa get an intelliframe!

Both Paintball Gateway.com and Xpaintball.com are good stores but xpaintball.com is a little bit better.

With the money you save. Get a dye sticky grip and tap the frame some how or punch a hole in the grip...

Or a level ten.

If you get a used Mag buy a tech video for $4, the o ring tool and some O Rings from Toms store.

If you have a leak, Tom says in the vide most of the time you will need a new O Ring. Make sure to get an ASA Allen wrench took kit from Pep Boys.

Im confused. Are you in the market for a new marker, or are you questioning AGD's advertising

Im not questioning AGD's advertising but I would not be surprised if AGD came out with a complete marker in the $500 range or under.

Duh thanks. I never bothered to check the minimags.

Minmags are in the store for $410.00 .
