check'em out at www.turtlecockers.com I know this is a mag forum but these cockers are pretty sweet, and likely to be my next marker!
theres a pretty good discussion about them at air-powered and pbnation.

how does it rocock? the backblock on cockers recock the gun as well as let another ball in, and I see where the bolt is and everything but where is the cocking rod?

The hammer has a notch milled into it, and the pullpin gos down through the bolt, and on the backwards stroke, the pullpin catches the milled slot, and the hammer goes back, is caught by the sear, bolt closes ect.

The cocking rod is usually on the left side, correct?

Oh i've got it now. Man that's a great concept. I love cockers, but every new cocker is just... well... another design of a cocker. They actually introduced a new recocking action on this gun. I just applied for a bunch of jobs, so I'll probably be getting one of these at christmas (very cool cockers)

That's the pump arm. The cocking rod is connected to the hammer and sticks out the back.

They look cool, but IMO it's just a quick fix for the extremely delayed half block Cockers.

fire1811, the bolt is just as exposed as normal Cockers, it's just much smaller. I'm wondering if they have some sort of sliding cover for the slot where the block catches the notch in the hammer, because I would not want to get dirt in the hammer area.

I guess these don't need a secondary reg...;)

Hmm take a warp body autococker and have it cut down like this ... man that would be a small setup.

I might have to think about getting one of those one day...

On top of noticeable reduction in weight, you also get:
-A smaller gun.
-Higher maximum ROF (a lot less mass moving around).
-Easier velocity adjustment(no cocking rod to remove).

I would suggest getting the complete body setup without trigger frame because that's 485 and then have someone or you install a e-blade. Thats only about 885 for a sweet electric cocker

I like that, that orracle looks pretty nice. I must concur with those who are concerned about getting dirt/paint/debris in any of the internals. That alone kind of turns me away from that marker.

If the back part wasn't exposed and was encased in metal (extend the body back), it would look completely different, and the internals wouldn't be as exposed. Plus it would be easy to change the design of that block that glides along the cut part of the body....

Nice. But, it wouldn't be the same without the reciprocating back block...

its a micrococker, with an ORRacle body

Wow those must be REALLY light. imagine an SFL turtle! and they are running a remote which totally makes this gun the coolest and probably lightest magic self cocking gun thing ever!

It looks like they used an origonal orracle body and just cut off the part where the VA adapter was and put a pro connect into the regular front block because there is already a hole tapped there. Right??

Ov3rmind
07-19-2003, 01:24 PM
Makes me wonder what pressure these things cycle at. It's gotta be pretty low considering how a normal Freeflow is already really soft on paint (and this has a lot less mass to move when cocking).

Plus they said that thier turtle valve and less hammer friction makes it even lower! If you read the page they say that the valve spring, which is on the same side as the hammer, is as light as a pen spring. Jeeze!

It reminds me heavily of the old F/X Microcockers. I've been begging chuckthemagician to trade me one of his(he knows which one:D ) for weeks now, but he won't budge...and I understand why. Eitherway, that little turtle cocker is pretty cool and if I had the funds, I would love to get one. Small, light, fast, and stylish....who could want more....btw, you can mount a reg on it. It uses the minicocker asa threads

all these new half block cockers...
um
this has basically already been done
it's called a palmer blazer:rolleyes:

except palmer doesn't believe in low pressure...
and there's no fancy milling

it's funny though that palmer semi's have never had the need for a cocking rod or cocking block
and cockers are finally just catching up now

Too bad Palmer won't put electro grip frames on. Also, I think the Gun FX Micro cocker was out before the Blazer.

ya it's a shame but i'm sure they won't ever go electro
Palmer is just 100% oldschool and that's the way he likes it

oh ya and regardless of when the micro came out...the recocking setup on a blazer is pretty much the same as the typhoon...
and the 'phoon has been around forever

Yes, this looks incredibly like a Blazer on the back end. I'm sure Glen and Craig will be none-too-happy when they see it...

What's really a shame is that the Turtle place wants $1200+ for one of their cockers fully assembled with Eblade. I might consider getting of of them if they drop the price down to $800, cause there is no way in hell I'm gonna pay that much for a minor milling conversion.

Ov3rmind
08-12-2003, 04:51 PM
$800 for an E-Blade Cocker? Are you on crack? A stock OutKast with an Eblade would be more than that, and could not touch a Turtle Cocker. IMO, $1200 is fine when you compare the price to other E-Blade Cockers.

PsychoBaller
08-12-2003, 05:14 PM
Considering you can setup a sweet Ebladed Powerlyte Hybrid Cocker for around $800-900. Eblade for $400 if not less, Powerlyte Hybrid Body is about $375 i think. Don't need to buy much else for the Front block with the Hybrid, since the Ram is internal I believe.

$800-900 tops, ask Dayspring and BlazingAce, they put together their Ebladed Hybrids for around that.

Ov3rmind
08-12-2003, 05:25 PM
E-Blade $390
Hybrid Body Kit $470
CP Barrel $45 (Turtle Cockers come with Barrels)

$905. However, the Turtle Cockers are much smaller and wayyy lighter than a Hybrid, not to mention some other advantages (lower cycling pressure, easier velocity adjustment, already assembled, more anodizing options).

IMO, it's up to your if you want to pay the extra $320 for a Turtle over a Hybrid, because the advantages are there. That's not saying I don't like the Hybrid though, as a matter of fact I still want to own one really bad. It just comes down to which features you want more (the Hybrid has some huge benefits over normal Cockers also).

Keep in mind you could also buy a Turtle with a sliding frame and throw on an E-Blade, that would end up being like $955, only $50 more than a Hybrid.

PsychoBaller
08-12-2003, 05:30 PM
Heh... musta been a Hybrid Body Kit special at IAO.. cause my teammates didnt pay anything near that, muhahahahah. Barrel prices are not to be included, I'm talking just gun setup. But Anyways.... for under $850, you can have a sweet Ebladed Cocker Setup. And no, I don't do drugs

I want to see some pics of people's Hybrids on here, I've only seen like 2 pics of them from owners ever (discluding the pics Powerlyte has up). I have tons of interest in this gun, and I'd really like to here what the owners think.

Talk to Dayspring, BlazingAce, or nTn. Those three have them. Day's and nTn have theirs fully setup already as they were using them at NJAO3....
