View Full Version : The Untermag Revolution Creed

AGD
07-20-2003, 06:52 PM
The AO Team here at IAO reviewed this creed and we are posting it for your approval. We are taking this seriously as this has the potential to stand for something real and important.

The Creed of the Das Untermag Revolution

We are the few and the underdogs. We do not need notoriety. We seek to gain knowledge and fight against mental repression caused by expensive marketing, hero icons and long held beliefs. We believe that there is a truth and that it should be sought out and embraced.

We are different because knowledge helps us to understand the line between paintball fantasy and reality where others think no line exists at all. The Revolution holds itself to higher standards. We do not allow our markers to be put down but we do not put down others markers. We seek to learn and to transfer that knowledge to others in a friendly way.

Our sign, “chuff chuff”, represents a point on the fantasy / reality line. This point moved when the LvL 10 changed the Automag. Long held beliefs have prevented this new truth from breaking into the mainstream. The Untermag Revolution was thus born. The sign is many things: a greeting between Revolution members—as they are among friends and a recognition of brotherhood telling the enlightened that you too seek knowledge above and beyond the mainstream. When directed toward an outsider, it is a signal that they do not wish to learn. We must accept the fact not all will join us.

Our symbol is the red star enclosed in a black circle. The circle represents unity, its color, black, shows that we are an underground community. The points on the red star represent all of the players that do not understand our creed. The points flow into the stars center showing that all are welcome to work with us in seeking to understand the truth. The red color represents that we are active in our communications with others both inside and outside the Revolution.

I like it. Regardless of what the PHN crew says - - - AO has been somewhat of an 'underground' movement for some time now. Primairly because of our group commitment to 'dispelling the myths' around painball technology.

All this talk about red stars and newly designed logos...and I have yet to see one that resembles what Tom is talking about. C'mon people I want a hot looking DUR logo!;)

Keep the red star, it also represents strong underground military minded movements...those that are down for the cause!

GSKRAP
07-20-2003, 08:29 PM
we need to make this kind of exclusive, you know becasue its for like people that have been faithful to mags for a while... like we need to stop accepting members soon and if we get stickers or tshirts or whatever, they should only go to members...

Okay, now as for the sig logo floating around with the player in it ... THAT'S ME, holding my MiniMag. I did that one up this morning, but I really wasn't expecting anything like this to come out of it.

Now, Tom's post requested a red star/black circle, but I had previously done the sig graphic in the reverse before he'd posted the creed. So if anyone wants a new sig graphic, please give me a little while, I'm working on it.

I've got one done up, but this thing is HUGE ... so be patient while it loads. This link is for a 300DPI, 7" x 9" JPEG - I'm talking poster print size.

http://www.bininger.com/paintball/revolution.jpg

It doesn't resize well, so I'll just be doing a new one direct to 100x120 pixel scale later and post the link.

I guess, since I've been doing the "chuff chuff" thing down at the field since I put my lvl 10 IN, back in March, I should probably join up. Well, that and, I'm all about supporting the underdog, yo. I spend a good hour-hourandahalf at the field every day I play, fixing little kids' markers and teaching them about them. :-) And I enjoy doing it, and making them feel good about their BE Marauder Walmart purchase. :D

So, sign me up. I'll post on the other thread too... peace --Dave

Monty Python: The quest of the holy Marker:

Sir Bedemere: "And what sound does a 'Mag make?"
Rabble crowd member 1: "Barks like a dog."
Rabble crowd member 2: "It sounds like a newt!"
Rabble crowd member 3: "Ni! Ni!"
King Richard: "Chuff chuff."
Sir Bedemere: "Exactly, which means?"
Rabble Crowd member with puzzled look on his face: "If it doesn't break paint..."
Sir Bedemere: "And?"
Rabble Crowd member looking ever more puzzled: "and... it goes 'chuff chuff'...."
Sir Bedemere: "Then?"
Rabble Crowd member still quite puzzled: "it's a.... a... 'Mag sir?"
Sir Bedemere: "Exactly, and therefore?"
Rabble crowd as a whole: "Burn it!"
-Rabble runs off with the paintball gun to set fire to it...
Sir Bedemere: "I see you are wise in the ways of science."
King Richard: "You have to know these things when you're king."
Sir Bedemere drops to one knee: "My liege!"

Tim: "It's a wretched beast, a monstrosity, just look at all the bones!"
Sir Lancelot: "Where's it hiding? Behind the rabbit?"
Tim: "It *IS* the rabbit."
King Richard: "Right. Sir red shirt security officer (expendable character), go get it."
Sir Red Shirt Security Officer (expendable character): "Right. Have at you!"
Vorpal Bunny: "Chuff chuff!"
-Lots of screams and Sir Richard soils himself...

The 'Mag-trix:

Neo: "I know 'Mag fu."
Morpheus: "Show me."
Neo: "Chuff chuff."

Ghandi Jr: "Know this, that there is no blender, only 'chuff chuff'."

Agent Smith: "Mr. Anderson, how good to see you again."
-Cut to the operator's terminal...
Tank: "What's Neo doing?"
Trinity: "Neo... Run!"
Morpeus: "He's making a stand, he's going to fight."
-Cut back to fight scene...
Neo strikes a fighting pose: "Chuff chuff."

Terminator 1:

Arnold: "Chuff chuff."
Police officer behind bulletproof glass: "Excuse me?"
Arnold: "I'll be back."

Reese: "It knows no emotion, you can't bargin with it, it won't stop until you're dead."
Sara: "This can't be real, this can't be happening!"
Terminator: "Chuff chuff."

Chinese proverbial question:

"If lvl 10 activates in the forest where no one can hear it, does it go 'chuff chuff'?"

this is the MOST pathetic thing ever posted on this website! the ellitist attitude that has begun to blossum in this thread and the other one related to it is startng to make me SICK!

tom, if you dont put a quick and decisive end to the very cultish flavor that this is beginning to develop you are going to drive away a lot of long time loyal customers and website members!

if members wish to develop and foster this club or that, so be it! the fact that i shoot a mag should be the only membership card AGD needs.

i implore you, end this before you kill the very thing you are trying to 'create' with these threads. that 'thing' has always been around, you just created the product that personified that attitude, trying to further name it, then market it with t-shirts and hopper stickers only cheepens it, you and your website(a website that i used to call 'our' website).

i love my mag and i loved my AGD, now i am just embaressed. but then again, who knows? maybe the lemmings will prevaile, the new AGD will park its new 18wheeler right next to 'smart-parts' 18wheeler at the next 'big show' and the newer, more hip 'tom' will peddle the real 'Tom's ideas to the glassy eyed masses who starve to belong to a group, any group, especialy a group united under a bright red star on a black field!:(

I think many people are missing the point. If you have put Chuff, chuff in your signature you are missing the point. Chuff, chuff as I understand it is like saying "whatever", or my personal favorite, "it's your lie, tell it how you want" when you just can't get someone to listen to the facts. This is about looking past the hype and getting the facts.

It's going to fail. There just aren't that many people who REALLY want to know the truth. :(

i am forced to agree with previous statements.
1 Tom good call on the creed. i like the whole perpetuation of knowledge. infact i love the idea and wanted in, but then i read on.
2 Underground? you must be kidding me. public forum + big sticky thread = NOT UNDERGROUND
3 superior attitude is NOT going to help you with "uneducated" folks.
4 i shoot a cocker, but i am very sold on the LVL 10 kit, i have sold 4 people on them. i read deep blue all the time, and i used to call AO home, but if this superior mindset keeps rolling along i believe i will go some where else.
it saddens me.

ZABBU:
1) Sweet, glad your into the creed.

2)Well the DUR was "underground" for about 2 days or so. But i suppose its all relative. Ask the average paintballer what DUR is...they probaby dont know. But then again there people who havent even heard of Mags, Matrixes ect. Maybe the DUR aint underground in AO duh, but as for the whole paintball/internet community? Maybe if we start getting some play on PBN we might have to rename ourself or something else

3)Personaly, I dont come off with a superior attitude. If anything i'll point people in the general/right direction for info. But there are those, who still "know" X marker shoots farther than Y marker at the same blahh blahh. In anycase solidifying the line between perception and fact is the general dogma of most DUR folks. And i belive, its just common sense to not cram the truth down anyones throat.

Maybe you perceive a superior mindset...i dont, i think most of the DUR dont either.

In anycase, most of us as paintballers and importantly consumers just oughta know.

Count me in, higher knowledge, or knowledge in general is what I'm after. And a comment to anyone who doesn't like the symbol because it's "satonic" its not, an upside down Pentegram is used to symbolize satanism, not a right side up pentagram which is a protection seal to those who follow that path. Anyhow, thats my 2 cents. Liva La Resistance!

hey i have been a member before i new i was! Ok well other than that i need to get that image of the red star and DUR logo. I'd love to see that as a patch or sticker though, nothing big or fancy just to let other DUR members know that we are out there. It would be great to show up to a game of paintball and run into a guy wearing the DUR patch and you wearing one too. i like to know who is playin with me, like AOers on the field.

So my question is can we get badges or atleast the image so i can get a badge made. I like having something that is only known by people in the know.

Does anyone else have a problem with a star in a circle? It seems satanic!

OK, here's the scoop boys and girls.

Without putting anyone on the defensive or intentionally inflaming the fragile sensibilities of the masses I'm going to give a public explanation of what the Pentacle/Pentagram TRUELY means.

Firstly, it IS a religious symbol to Pagans, Wiccans, Druids and Witches. Any member of these religious beliefs will tell you that they do NOT believe in the Christian embodiment of evil known to them as Satan, Lucifer etc..

That being said, A Pentagram is a five pointed star, lines crossing, surrounded by a circle. The points of the star represent the four elements, earth, air, fire, water. The fifth point wich points up represents spirit, the circle is a circle of protection.

An upsidedown Pentagram is much akin to an inverted Christian cross...personally, it's sacreligious to me.

OK kids, schools out. Thanks for your time and please remember, this was written to inform, not to offend or infuriate anyone. If you have a problem with what I have written, then please accept my apologies.

Blessed Be,

Biscuit

And if you didn't figure it out....Yeah, I'm a Pagan and proud of it! CHUFF CHUFF

 Yes Boys and Girls of all ages, UNTER means "UNDER" as in UNTERSEABOAT (Submarine or "U-Boat") or as pertaining to the Creed:

We are the few and the underdogs. We do not need notoriety. We seek to gain knowledge and fight against mental repression...

Note the use of "UNDERDOGS", we are considered by the uneducated as just that, hence

UNTERMAG is very appropriate.

Sign me up, i'm all for educating others, even though some of them won't accept facts. Also, i've loved mags for a long time, and i know german so i actually got the name (even though it's not hard to figure out). Also, for those who said this should be an exclusive thing, i believe you are missing a vital detail about the creed. "The points on the red star represent all of the players that do not understand our creed. The points flow into the stars center showing that all are welcome to work with us in seeking to understand the truth. The red color represents that we are active in our communications with others both inside and outside the Revolution." Basically it says to be accepting, and to accept all. Also, this isn't a cult, it's a movement.

Just in case some are looking for justification for continuing to own and operate THE premier paintball marker...

Saturday June 14,2008, during the Oklahoma D-Day main event, I shoot just short of three (3) CASES (That's almost 6000 rounds, for you folks from Rio Linda), WITHOUT A SINGLE BROKEN BALL!!!!
That figured out to several HUNDRED eliminated ALLIES with just my TAC-ONE RT!!

I started playing the game with an automag 68 custom with an expansion chamber...
Back when the automags and the cockers were at each other throats.

I was 11.
I had no idea how big the automag world was.

I never played anywhere but Texas Paintball in Austin, Tx from '96-'00
That paintball venue was so low key and exclusive.

It kept me from taking a bigger view at the world of AGD.
Then I stopped playing in 2000. I moved and there were no places to play around me in Washington DC and none of my new friends cared for paintball.

But as of a week ago, I am back.
I walked into a paintball store here in Tucson and was appalled at what I saw. Kids my age, kids younger than me... never even heard of an Emag or a Minimag.

I drove all over Tucson asking if anyone could help me relearn my automag. The techies all told me the same thing: "You'll have to talk with our owner... only he knows anything about anything to do with mech guns."

The owners? Only two people in Tucson I could find who would talk mech guns with me?
COCKER-BOYS!

I was immediately getting trash-talked and told they couldn't help me if it wasn't closed-bolt.

Well let me tell all of you.
I didn't give up.

I've been talking with Dark Blade for the past week.
He has been re-teaching me everything I knew and need, nay, MUST know again.

My mag is coming back. And with the newly purchased Emag-Lowers, X-valve Lvl 10, and HPA tank, it is coming back with a vengeance... A new burst of energy and excitement that I haven't seen in a decade.

This, my friends, is the re-birth of the Angel-Killer that terrified anyone who knew anything back in the day when people paid 1000 bucks to have what a $140 Ion can do today.

My friends have Ions and other Electric guns. They tell me I'm crazy for putting the money into this old '69 chevelle SS. But they do not know what is coming. They are unfortunate in the lack of experience from what the game held and meant fifteen years ago.

They will soon learn what their ancestors feared. A world they never knew existed is coming back...

Das Untermag will reemerge victorious on the battlefields of Tucson once again and prove to the already drying paintball community why it has refused to falter in the wake of Ego's and Bob Long's.

Das Untermag Lives On.

I will be creating a thread which tracks the JTWUSAF-Dark Blade Joint Project: Rustymag to Emag, The Chronicles of the Long-Lost Hero.

Just a few quotes from my more recent forays with my 'mag:

"What kind of Ion shell is -that-, Dad?" (between two players in the dead zone when I came off the field)

"Where do the batteries go in that thing?"

"Dude, run, that's the guy with the automag!" - me as a young player in 1997, part of the reason I bought one when I could afford it in 2004.

"Why do you insist on using that thing.... %#$%!" - my seapup in the Navy, who's secondhand cocker decided to drop another part on the ground at a very convenient moment.

"My Shocker's a lot faster than your overpriced 'mag." to which I responded, "Yeah, but at least my 'mag isn't rusting apart."

And, perhaps this is digressing, but since when am I old enough, at 28, that the guy behind the counter at the local paintball shop has to call his boss to find out what in the world a "BigShot" barrel is, and then offers me $5 for a used, new condition cocker-threaded one, because "no one with an autococker is going to buy a cheap no-name barrel"?
