I know I sound like a newb, but I am not sure if my tank is over it's hydro date and I want to make sure it is safe.
I have a crossfire 4500/68

now, there is a bunch of numbers, etc. But the one that seems most like a date is one that says:

04 - CL - 02

The cl in the middle is a large c surrounding a small L. Is that my hydro date, and if so, is it five years from that date that the tank must be hydro'd, or is that the date it should have been hydro'd?

If it is past hydro, than my field has filled the tank several times. Thanx for any help.

That tank was made and/or initially tested in 4/02, so it is a little more then a year old. The tank will say when it needs to be hydro'd next, probably 5 years. Regardless, that tank is safe and legal to use.

You need to check the "DOT-" numbers to be sure it a five year interval or a three year interval.

Mine says DOT E11005... I'm assuming thats a five year interval?
