cutting springs

once i cut a spring is there nething that i need to do to the end that i cut. also , which end should i put facing the valve, the cut or uncut end.

Cut side goes toward valve.

once i cut the spring would i have to bend it to make it look like the uncut end of the spring?

No. Just put the cut end towards the valve as it is.
