Anybody here a Reds fan? Any of you reds fans think that the ownership ISN'T RETARDED?

Why did they get rid of Jim Bowden? He nearly always made good trades and did pretty good for having NO money to work with.

I think firing Boone however was a good idea, but no matter who they get to manage how do they expect to win with no pitching? From ESPN.com

He'd had at least four trades vetoed by ownership in the last two years -- including monster deals last summer that would have brought the Reds big names like Bartolo Colon, Chuck Finley and Scott Rolen. Allen didn't address those names directly Monday. He said simply that some of Bowden's proposed deals were "so absurd" (because of the money the Reds would have taken on

And what about the pitching they DO have?

Yet just a few days later, White's name was on a list of four players that Allen told Bowden he all but had to deal by Thursday's trade deadline. (The others are believed to be fellow pitchers Scott Williamson, Danny Graves and Scott Sullivan

We need a new owner.

And SportsCenter just said that Williamson is gone for
A MINOR LEAGUER TO BE NAMED PLUS CASH.

Why is the ownership so CHEAP?

Football season cant come fast enough.

wow, it must suck to be an ohio sports fan right now. you have the reds and the indians in baseball, the browns and bengals in football, and the cavs in basketball. it just might be the worst pro sports state in the nation.

Im not really an Indians sports fan, and I dont follow basketball at all.

I dont follow the browns much either.

The bengals are startign to make some better decisions but the Reds are looking torelieve the Tigers of suckiest team ever.

The Browns are gonna whoop this year. They were a much better team than their record showed last year.

Just wait and see. :)

Plus if they can get the game in to the 8th or 9th inning its all but over because no one has an answer for John smoltz. The Reds'll get better in time. Getting rid of Boone was a nice move and in a couple years they shoudl be pretty good. Adam Dunn is great, but he needs to work on not striking out so much.:) Sean Casey, Adam Kearns, and Aaron Boone have alot of talent and should help the Reds' offense. Id try and work out a deal to get rid of Griffey, he hasnt helped the Reds much at all.

When they got rid of Willamson to cut pay(as if its not low enough already) Boone asked get out. He and Jose Guillen(the only two players who have been healty AND hitting for the whole season) are expected to go by the deadline tommorow.

If the reds can keep Dunn, Kearns, Boone, Guillen, and Casey and get SOME pitching they could easily be in contention, but the owners do seem like they want to keep all these players, or get pitching.

The owners seem like they are running this team to maximize cash, not compete.

Keep some pitching? You have NO pitching. :) The Reds have one of the worst starting staffs in baseball. Be thankful they want to get rid of them. You got promising hitters for the future, but without pitching you won't get anywhere. The Reds really overachieved before the All-Star break considering whose on the pitching staff. They really need some quality starters if they want to be contenders. Without at least some pitching, you won't get anywhere.

It was good to get rid of Boone, the real mistake came years ago from firing Jack McKeon. Look what he's doing with Florida. The Reds won't be contenders till they get rid of Griffey. Griffey is a great guy and all, but his contract is eating you alive. Both the Reds and him need fresh starts. Once his contract is gone, you'll have money to spend on pitching.
