intellifeed issue

Hey I'm trying to Intellifeed my gun, and I was wondering how it works when it works correctly. I followed the instructions correctly, it only works while the agitator is switched on, and what happens is that when i depress the switch, it just makes the agitator speed up. is that how its supposed to work?

ok i put my finger in front of the sensor eye and realized im an idiot.....nm guys
