You tell me, I saw the Captain Morgan billboard on the way into work this morning and had to check for myself.

LOL!

I saw an interview with Johnny Depp not too long ago. He used Keith Richards as the model for his character in Pirates of the Carribean. From what I've seen, he nailed it pretty good!

pirates of the carribean owned for a disney flick... I have seen it twice. I thought the same thing about the captain morgan especially when Johnny Depp is drinking the rum on the island.

I've been acting like Keith Richards for years, and only when my friends heard that Johnny Depp used him as inspiration did anyone understand what the heck I was doing. Eitherway, I'm considering making my new found alter-ego into a permenant installation of my consciousness. Out with the old noah, in with Capt. Jack Sparrow/Morgan.

Eitherway, I noticed the likeness driving home from the movie the other day too.

Disney only authorized the use of the theme, and helped with distribution. THey didn't make it....which is why I went to see it!

BTW: The REAL Captain Morgan was a notoriously evil rum-runner, thus the connection with Capt. Morgan Rum! Those who tried to stop him were usually destroyed in battle, and he would claim THEIR cargos as his own.......well, he was a Pirate after all!

Agreed, pirates of the carribbean OWNED! I only got to see it twice in theatre's though. Anybody know when the DVD comes out?

P.S. now i have started checking out some other of johny depp's movies. Anyone seen all of "From Hell"? the last 20 minutes (all that i have actually seen) where pretty good. I also heard that he is good in "Sleepy Hollow".

And Depp was fair, but too clean to be a real pirate.

Why doesn't anyone defend pirates anymore? If I said "Are the Irish a bunch of drunks?" people would defend them.

No they wouldn't.

All the Irish do is drink.

I can't believe I forgot Blow...that is an amazing Depp flick. You should check that one out too, Vash.

Meh, Blow was a movine long guilt trip. Depp did a good job, but the ending just slaughtered the point.

From Hell was annoying, I had the thing figured out when i saw the first preview. It was plain to see.

9th Gate felt like it was building up to a great end, then it just ended. Meh.

I relaly liked Pirates, but thought Depp played Jack a lil too close to Hunter S Thompson. I found it slightly annoying. Still loved the flick.

I have a lot of respect for Depp. I think he's a very talented actor. Gotta love him in Edward Scissorhands. He's even in Platoon as a translator IIRC.

It was ok, it seriously dragged.

And Pirates was awesome.

9th Gate was a really dry movie, which some might find boring, but personally I thought it was exceptionally cool. The ending could have been a tad better, but the story was cool.

Yeah I really I like the 9th gate. I just bought it yesterday.

And I want to be a pirate when I grow up....

I haven't seen this one yet, but from what I've seen/heard. it's supposed to be really good.

I didn't like From Hell at all. It was so predictable it wasn't even funny, and it dragged on.
