I'm trying to get into the MAG universe and would like some pointers on what kind of gun to get. I've been looking at the Minimags and I think that's what I'll be getting. My budget is under $400, with that being said what do you guys recommend as a good starter MAG.

Also once I get a MAG what kind of upgrades should I look out for. I've seen Level 10 Bolt, Intelliframe etc and kind of know what they are and what they do.

Thanks for any help...

pointm@n, look into the "tko" classic mag from paintball gear. It gives you everything you need and with money left over for a tank or upgrades.

What's your opinions on the Minimag? Good gun or should just get the automag? Minimag is about 40 more than powerfeed automag or same price as the TKO.

point: the difference between the minimag and the automag is the longer body on the minimag, and the fact theat the valve comes with 4 repair stars, as opposed to 1 on the automag. my recommendation: check around in the trading forums for a cheap, used mag. youll save a tooooon of money over buying one new.

and with the new AGD warranty, that "4 star" repair, is down to "2 star" level. they dont honor all 4, not that you'll need 4

Regardless if you start off from a auto, or mini follow something along these lines for an upgrading plan

Intelliframe or Ygrip
Xvalve
ULT
ULE Body
Omega Rail or milled out stock (weight savings)

As far as foregrips, drops, and such go you have a mind of your own hehe, get what ever your preference is.

edit: anyhow as said above check out used mags, you'll be able to get one with alot more upgrades for less griller than the popos gonna charge you for a new one. The classifieds here, pbn, etc, or ebay are all great places to stalk.
