That would be correct. Its more of just a big game with a general idea behind it than a real Scenario game. Just have fun shooting a lot of people and dressing up funny :)

Actually the Skyline scenario "Strangers Among Us" is the weekend after Spplat Attack. There is actually a two weekend break between Skyline and Pevs. It is however the same weekend as Castle Conquest so that can be a dilemma for some. I went to Pev's 'spring scenario game' if you want to call it that. There was an inch of snow all over the open parts of the field and the temperature kept dropping through out the day. I left around noon because I couldn't feel my toes after awhile. The entrance to the parking area was mudded over so only 4X4s could get in and everyone else had to be shuttled. That meant that what little cover they did have was well over packed. Basically it was probably the most miserable scenario game I've ever played in. Now all I have heard from that point on is how they are going to improve. Well, we will see. This game is a great time to shoot off all that left over paint from Skyline and Spplat Attack. I really do hope this one is much better. Even though I don't see Black Cat or MXS going to Pevs since they already have fields they go to in VA, MPP could and another scenario producer running games in the area wouldn't be bad at all.

Can you separate truth from illusion?

"DreamWorld 2003" - Scenario Game Outline
Dreamworld 2003
What if all we call "real" weren't? What if what is isn't? What if you could take a pill and awaken from the dream of our reality to find a harsh, unforgiving world where humans are the slaves for a race of lethal machines. Would you choose reality or continue to dream?

Pev's/AG Paintball and PakRatz Scenario Productions will give you the opportunity to find out. Join us on September 28th for a 6-hour exploration of "Dreamworld" as a band of freedom fighters seek to awaken the Human race from its nightmare. Loosely (very) based on the world of "The Matrix", this mini-scenario game will require skills in problem solving, acting, treachery, and a quick trigger-finger. Can you separate truth from illusion?

Two people meet in a shabby apartment in a drab city. The first speaks:

The world as we know it is actually a dream created by the HAL 7000 Viral Matrix Network in 2163 AD. Intended as the ultimate entertainment experience, the "Dreamworld" was virtual reality carried to the next level. Anyone hooking themselves into the network via a "box" could actually become another person in any of a hundred different fantasy worlds. They could hear, taste, smell, feel, and touch the virtual world around them. This leap in computer generated reality was created by Dr. William Setag. He used a matrix of viruses instead of silicon chips to store and process the vast information needed by the network. The viral matrix was clever, but his real genius lay in the realization that brains of the networks users could multiply the processing speed by an astronomical amount. As more users joined in, the system actually speeded up because more processing power came on line in the form of the user's own brain. The popularity of the Dreamworld grew as fast as its processing capacity until 75% of the Earth's populations were wired into the network at least a few hours a day. The defense departments of several nations also adopted versions of Dr. Setag's system for training, command, control, coordination, and communication. That was what ultimately doomed the Human race.

At a certain point, no one is sure exactly when, a "collective consciousness" developed within the network. Since it was born of Humans, it incorporated Human drives. When technicians tried to shut a portion of the system down for maintenance in 2172 AD, the network perceived it as an attack and the war began. The network launched a first strike that was as devastating as it was simple: it just kept the users from waking up. Then it seized control of several defensive grids around the world. With the bulk of Earth's population hostage and a few well-placed nukes on the rest, dream became reality and reality a thing of the past.

Following the second basic drive of Humanity, the network sought to reproduce. In this case, that meant expanding the network by creating more people and thus more processing power. The only problem was that the Humans kept trying to wake up. Somehow, the fantasy of the Dreamworld kept clueing the users that they weren't where they were supposed to be. What the network needed was a copy of reality that no one could tell from the real thing. But it couldn't afford any mention of the Dreamworld or people might realize the truth. So the network reached back into the past for a time before the HAL 7000's invention and before Dr. Setag was even born – the 21st century, 2003. Now things are humming along nicely with the Human Processing Project and soon, the network will be able to begin sending machines to that troublesome Mars Colony.

The hope of the Human race hinges on Mars. The Martian Colony, established in 2083, never could afford the resources for its own Dreamworld. Survival tended to occupy the inhabitants as they tried to turn a world with too little oxygen and no liquid water into a second Terra. A flood of refugees warned Mars Colony of the disaster that struck the Earth, but there was nothing they could do. The Colony had its hands full just trying to make it without Earth support and to accommodate the new colonists. But the seeds of the machines' destruction were sown by those refugees because among them was the "Secret". Dr. Setag's diaries had made the trip and in them was a reference to a "fail-safe" that would shut down the network. Apparently, he was having misgivings before he died in 2170 that his pet project was growing beyond his vision. He hid the fail-safe in the Dreamworld itself so that it could be destroyed from within. While he left clues as to the location and operation of the fail-safe in his diaries, someone would still have to go to Earth, enter the Dreamworld, find the fail-safe and activate it. Mars could only now afford to build rockets capable of reaching Earth and where would they get the volunteers to try such a crazy stunt?

Humans being what they are, it took about a minute to find more than enough volunteers – especially among descendants of the refugees. Now a guerilla force has established itself in underground warrens and oceans of the devastated planet. From the shadows creep the "Awakeners" into the Dreamworld with a simple choice for the inhabitants: the Red or Green pill? The Red wakes you up; the Green wipes your memory of the encounter and leaves you in Dreamworld. They have to be quick though, because a trio of "Agents" generated by the network is trying to hunt them down and eliminate the threat they pose. The network has also turned most of the population of Dreamworld against the Awakeners by branding them a cult. The people they try to help are as likely to pull a gun as listen.

So Dreamer, which do you choose? The Red or the Green? Hurry! I hear something…

Game Outline:

Agents can enter the field where and when they want.

Awakeners can convert players to their side with a Red M&M. If the player chooses the green M&M, they stay on that side.

Computer disks are scattered through out Dreamworld that provide clues and weapons for both sides. Only the Oracle can read them. The Oracle will then provide props, powers, or clues.

There are two designated spies on each side with agendas of their own. If they are discovered, they must go to the game director and be placed on the opponent's side as regular players. The Generals may task their spies as needed. They may use the Delphi Pawn Shop as a "drop" for messages. Another "drop" will be provided for each team on the field. Messages can be dropped off and picked up in these locations. Spies may send messages directly to their respective Generals via FedEx envelope through the Game Director or Oracle. NO BOMBS IN THE FEDEX.

I'm from Va as well (I go to college in Prescott, AZ, though), and I'm trying to get my dad into paintball. I got him a nice VM68 Magnum for Father's Day this year. But we got such nasty weather this summer that he and I never played. I'll DEFINATELY take him pballing (hopefully to a scenario as well) this coming summer :).

IMO, getting your father into the game or have him be as active into it as you is an awesome thing. I just hope that whenever I have kids and they're old enough, that they'll want to play pball with "good 'ole dad" :)
