does the post office mind if you use duct tape on packages?

I've heard taht they do... but i need an answer asap.. as i will be buying more tape before i visit the post office if so.

Yes, duct tape is a no-no in the eyes of the USPS. You'll need to get some packing tape before you send out. I've run into that a couple of times.

i just received a package that was coated in ducttape sent through USPS

The idiot freakin make a duct tape coffin, i had to use a box cutter to open it

I have never encountered any problems with the USPS and Duct tape. The only problem I can see, is when people write the address on the tape....it rubs off really easy.

Use a big mailing sticker, and keep any address or numbers off the tape and you shouldn't have any problems.

just use clear packing tape, duct tape is heavier and adds weight to the package adding up to more $$ for shipping =(

clear packing tape is the best! it 0wNz0rZ duct tape

Well the lady at the post office did give say that they don't like duct tape but it's better then masking tape. She said that duct tape is easier to pull off and replace then the clear packaging tapes. I still use duct tape though. Just cause I know it can hold a car together so why couldn't it hold a box together.
