well, heres the deal, i want a small compact gun for playing up front. what do you think of this:

i would buy this pistol:

http://www.paintballarmory.com/itemdesc.asp?CartId=7885252-CARTID1-GQXLL195&ic=ARM%2DZEUS%2DBLK

and put this on, so i could throw on a 200 rnd hopper:

http://www.paintballarmory.com/itemdesc.asp?CartId=7885252-CARTID1-GQXLL195&ic=ARMO%2D001

and add this so i could run a 12 or 20 oz Co2 Tank:

http://www.paintballarmory.com/itemdesc.asp?CartId=7885252-CARTID1-GQXLL195&ic=ARMO%2D007&tpc=

is this smart?, or just plain dumb, if just plain dumb, why?, and what would you use for a small, compact front gun?

just go with the pistol itself, youll really show your skill when you can go out there with like 10 shot tubes of paint and eliminate everyone

actually, you know what, that sounds like alot of fun... i just might buy a pistol sometime soon... i wish i could afford a Sydarm from someone whos lucky enough to have one... a level ten could be installed in one of those right

but for the mean time, while i cant destroy 5 other people with impys, would that be a cool little portable front man gun?

if you want a high rate of fire, probably not.. but i dont know, my setup is extremely small, and one day ill get myself a warp feed and a warp body, that will be sweet

You'd be better off converting a PGP to semi w/ cocker pnumatics, throw on a hinge frame and have the body machined to vert feed.

Or just buy one of those turtle 'Cockers.

yeah, those turtle cockers are TINY

if you did your plan all you'd end up with would be an expensive spyder clone with a crappy trigger. It'd be compact and vert feed, but once you toss a regular hopper and co2 tank on there the smallness of the gun is minor.

I'd get a ULE bodied mag with a really short barrel. That would be pretty small.

I've seen pics of minimags with really short barrels on them and they looked really small.

It looks like you are trying to make a pistol into a vertical feed with a back bottle. Why don't you just get a ULE mag with a short barrel. It'll be the same thing in the end except the mag will be more consistent and durable.

except my budget for this gun is under 200 dollars, way out of the price range of a ULE mag

This would be nice for that kind of thing...not that you could get one for $200.

you dont need a small gun to play upfront, use a normal gun..

ok, heres what i do to play front, i have my classic mag, i sawed off the stock barrel to 3in, only 1in sticks out of the body, i put on a vert addapter and a 4oz co2 tank (you can also use a 12g addapter, and got 1 of those BE 50 round hoppers that go on blades and talons, the entire setup is like 7in by 7in, and you use it like a pistol, dont shoulder it, if you had 2 it would be the coolest thing ever. its soooo small, its great, alot better than your zues idea

are short short barrels accurate enough?

A minimum of 6 inches is needed for the ball to get up to speed. Anything after that is gravy.

And no. A level 10 can't be installed in a Sydarm with out a "flow restrictor" being removed. I heard about it from RobAGD.

I used to play with a setup like this too. This pic is an example; obviously, don't try this with an X-Valve since it's CO2. When I did it, I had a gutted classic valve with a palmer stab up front.

If you've already got a mag, I don't think it's worth spending your money on another gun when you can just change your mag's configuration.

Whats the diffrence between having a 3 oz tank with a small drop than a 45/45 ci nitro on a big drop? Theres almost none (besides wieght, but im talking size wize), so whats the point?

The difference is tallness. I can tell you right now, playing the snake with a tall gun sucks. It's usually OK, but there are a select few bunkers where a tall gun is very annoying. Honestly, I would recommend using as small a drop (or a rail) as possible.

You guys are all retarted! This is what I use when I play front. It is the ultimate in compactness, reliability and affordability.

Best marker for front players ever... (http://www.defenseagainstcrime.com/self-defense/misc-defense-items/slingshot.htm)

Well, you definitely get less shots out of a 4oz like mine. :p

I've heard the height thing before. Some people have gone back to bottomlines only; no dropforward at all when it comes to front playing.

I don't play the snake myself, but a gun with a 4oz is a lot more maneuverable. Contrary to what 1st person computer games would have you believe, you cannot spin 180 degrees instantaneously with a gun that has real weight. When you're laying prone can't exactly get the best firing position, the bulk of whatever tank you have on there will probably be apparent. I've watched people playing it, and it looks like a lot of one-handed maneuvering.
