Okay, comcast is and always has been the devil. I need a new broadband provider in the Seattle area. Give me some companies to look up and call before I go to comcast and strangle some people for being a-holes.

I have SBC Yahoo and it's ok....since I've never had a different ISP except for AOL *shutters*, SBC makes me happy.

more suggestions? please before it goes down again... i've been having massive lag spikes and like 20 minute down times

Comcast sux, Verizon's worse.

If you go DSL I would recommend a separate ISP. Blarg.net is a great ISP but they have to use the dsl lines from the monopoly.

I went to comcast. Blarg was great for when I did have problems with verizon. but I still had to go through verizon for the DSL line and I learned to hate them, hate them with a passion. But other than that, verizon sucked.

the solution my little friends:

commercial level DSL or cable broadband...

Try to avoid DSL. It gave me nothing but problems.

well, at least i'm not the only person who hates comcast. my internet used to go out randomly, despite the fact that we still had cable tv. you can't even check your mail on their website, =\

FooTemps-have you been trying to play vid games
past couple of games and your ping has been all over the place
just wondering cause i have comcast
and the ping is like 30-40 and bam up to 1000!
comcast ownz me :(

Well, i go from 60-70 to 1000-3000

Toad.net ! small buisness level DSL, its great when it works...

BUT IT ALWAYS FAILS FOR 5 MINUTES OVer and OVER AT NIGHT EVERY SINGLE DAY!

I didn't, I'm firewalled, it's just that my service kept cutting out randomly when the virus first came out. I think that the actual company was hit and something happened.

Don't be fooled by the name. They rate all sorts of broadband options. There are ratings for just about every conceivable broadband vendor. Plug in your zip code and away you go.
