View Full Version : My pimped ULE CUSTOM project

I have taken a bunch of old automag and emag parts, ordered a pewter warp ule body and started some custom work with this rail. I am planning on milling the extra jive off of the front where the emag charger would have been at one point and round it to contour to the circular asa. As you can also see, I cut a hole for the asa screw for a tighter lighter setup. I began to strip the paint but I decided to let the powdercoaters do that. In the end It should be amazing... all chrome xcept for the valve barrel and pewter main body.

_But_ I'm still looking for more ideas. Im thinking of cutting slots into the inside of the rail to allow more unneeded weight to drop to the floor. If you have ideas on what else might look cool or custom post back! here are a good amount of pics.

How are you gonna stop that back half of the Reg from spinning off now? Have you devised a way to hold it there?

I assumed good ol' fasHioned teflon tape would work... right??? and if not just light thread lock. I'm not positive so you tell me!;) Thanks for your interest!

Actually thats funny epoxy never works for me even if I let it dry for 2 days..
As soon as I touch anything thats been attached with it the epoxy cracks
its ghey

I would never touch such a product to a fine crafted piece of artwork like my mag! Anyway... like I said, it shouldnt be bad with teflon tape... correctamundo?

Well, as Tunaman pointed out, it's kind of a no-no to drill/mill out the little slot that keeps the valve reg in place because it becomes a safety issue when it's not there.

wait this word... saffff.. saaafte... safty? What could go wrong?!? The valve launches out the back of the body and blows a 1.5 inch hole in my head?!?

hey what r using 2 do all the milling i used a dremel and it worked pretty good but would u suggest something different

nato

Well, I am blessed with a friend who has an industrial sized drill press that I used for the big stuff and the finishing. In between I tried to use the dremel but found that the combinations of hacksaws, hammer and chisles, and files it worked out pretty well. It also depends on the project.

I forgot to say but instead of hacking off the front I decided to take out all the inside weight so there is a huge "dent" inside of the rail where I took out weight that was not needed. I made sure though that it wasnt soo much that it snap in half from becoming too weak. :)

ooogly. ahh not bad for not having a mill around. but one thing i might suggest in the future of your modifications is draw out your designs and practice on some dummy peices.
im gonna have some fun if i ever get my dads lathe working.

Why practice on dummy pieces? I did do a drawing on the rail but it didnt help.

the smartest way to reduce rail weight would be to send it to Roguefactor and have him mill the rail for you. he is in the dealer section.

i like the milling on the rail alot but lately i havnt been able 2 stop thinking wouldnt u be scared 2 shoot with that thing next to ur face for fear of blowing a hole thru ur head?

nato

I'm not afraid of that poopoopoo and anyway it WONT MOVE OR DO ANYHTHING DANGEROUS!!! I would notice if it were screwing out anyway.

uhh it shouldnt unscrew when pressure is in it, the psi in the reg should keep the threads tight, plus if all else fails, which shouldnt just use some loc-tite. Im pretty sure the valve will stay in there though

See! Us Pie Guys dont need to get all worried and stressed about dumb things like that! Great minds think alike!:p

UPDATE: I may chrome the mag along with an emag and interchange the parts to my likings. Once it comes back from the painter guys I'll show some pics.

Why would the back half of the reg spin off? SFL e-mags don't have the Z-groove and I don't have a hole in my head yet. Just grip the the back half of the reg a little when you decrease the velocity to keep the halves from unscrewing.

as a former sfl owner myself i completely understand!
