Just go by one from sears or ace hardware or somewhere of the like. I found after putting mine to serious use it doesnt spin on lower rpms, it only spins onlike the 3rd setting and up, and its the new name brand dremel. I'd buy one of the knock off ones and use it until it breaks.....theyre cheap. I also got that extension cord thingy....it doesnt work

first off, battery powered ones SUCK. Get something with a cord, it's a pain at times, but much much much more powerful.

The one I have is from Sears. It is a stationary one that has a long flexible hose coming from it (about 2-3 feet) and the attachment goes at the end of the hose. Basically allows you to get into tight places and further into things than a regular dremel would. It goes from 2500 rpm (i believe) to 35000 rpms. It's awesome. Cost me about $50-60 if i remember correctly. I've had it for a year and havent had a problem with it.

My first one was a crappy battery powered dremel name brand, it would only spin to like 12000 rpms, so I was at home depot one day and they had a sale on black and decker ones that were 65 that were down to 20, it is awesome it spins to 35000 rpms and came with a nice case and lots of attachments

I have a name Dremel brand name, they wear out alot slower than the knockoffs and their customer service is pretty good also if yours gives up. Also Dremel makes some pretty kick *** accesiories which only fit on the Dremel. Like vertical drill presses

The best dremel is a knife! It's precise and you can stop and switch speeds whenever you want. :p ;)

Do not get a Black and Decker portable dremel knock-off!!! They SUCK! What a waste of $30. $20 more and I woulda had a Dremel that would have lasted me forever.
