Alright guys, i know you're not supposed to screw in/unscrew the trigger rod to make your trigger pull shorter or longer, and i'm not really planning on doing it, but i still don't understand why. I'm really just curious about it (for all those who were gonna reply, "well if you're not gonna do it why do you care?") and want to know why it would screw my gun up. I had a guy who knows his stuff tell me NEVER to adjust it, and that it is common knowledge that you can't do a trigger job on a mag, but i just don't understand what it would do. Hope someone can explain to me how it would hurt my gun or what exactly it would do.

Peace,
J.J.

By turning the rod in/out, you are altering the relationship between the sear and the on/off pin. This could lead to misfires, NOT firing or a full auto type of effect.

So your buddy was right. DON'T DO IT.
