test body cleaned up some..
note that this body has slight changes in detail (user/machine error :) ) from whats it supose to be.. but its very close...

pricing is still not set yet. a little more tweaking is necessary.. as well as getting an emag rail working with it.

njoy for now:

I really like how you have the body and rail milled to match, makes for a very neat overall package.

Man, that really is the best looking Mag body to date (I like it better than the x-Mag milling). Now you're making me want to get a Mag again (with a gloss black Dallara).

woo, beautiful.

my one suggestion to it is, behind the two oval spots, maybe make a little curve in, just so its not flat, that would be even nicer.

i love that body. now if it only had a removeable breech(hint hint - can't be that much more money, just except for the extra breech would be all?)

08-18-2003, 06:19 PM
Verry verry nice. Whenever I end up rebuilding my emag I think I'll be buying one of these!

Actually I belive that doing a removeable breach would be a pain in the rear with any body/rail combo. Now I'm not a machinist so I couldn't tell you for certian, but I have attempted to design one myself (In one of my Mechanical Engineering classes).

WOW THAT IS HOT. Im now thinkin of gettin that and using it when im in the mood instead of the xmag body. Question, can you mill out the rail to accept ace? and drill a hole in the bottom of the breach for the eye? if so, go for it!

another important question..

what are you looking at weight for the body and rail combined?

just the body?

just the rail?

Looks very very nice. I dunno about the circles tho.

I think you should do a body that has a module like the X-mag. A spot for an ACE wouldnt be a bad idea either :)

All black anyone?

nicad
08-18-2003, 10:00 PM
OK yall.. this thing is based on an AGD slug body.. so first off, its built to AGD specs = no quality control worries.
The slug however was not designed to have a removeable breach, there is not enough material around the underside of the feed area to support the lack of material where you would to remove the "breach".. you would bassicaly be cutting the thing in half.
Yes it would be possible to poke a small home in the underside for an ACE.. a Chord V2 customer ordered that on his Chord.

still working on better toolpaths so we can get an accurate price extament out there and start making these bad boys!

Whats the combined weight of this?

nicad
08-18-2003, 10:22 PM
good job there Linx! :)

weight-
body: ~4.3 oz
stock rail: ~4.2 oz

soooo.. total is like.. umm... ummmmmm...
4.5? dang im good at math.

Exodius
08-18-2003, 10:44 PM
heres the color I'd want to annodize mine to. This is just photoshopped. This is in no way, shape, of form, an actual Dallara body that can be touched. I just took Nicad's pics and modified them a little.

nice work Miscue! thanks...

So far, there is an issue with the emag rails.. namely they are a little too narrow in the front to flow properly.

what does this mean?
well, I hope to be getting one sometime this week (thanks to all of those of you who offered yours!!) from paintballmaxx to measure..
once i make a good model of it, Arowmic and I will buckle back down and do some re-designing to make it work.

remember, we are working hard to stay with genuine AGD products! in the end, we want the Dallara to be "AGD approved".. like our Chord body series.

Miscue
08-19-2003, 10:36 PM
No problem! I like that body so much that I decided to see what different colors looked like.

Looks like AGD needs a sluggo EMag rail.

no i havent died. :)

update on Dallara:
I have some more slugs and AM rails comin from AGD.. unfortuantly the Slugs are on backorder from them, so ETA ???

this means we will be making some Dallaras with automag rails (ie: non-Emag) soon. I finally confirmed that my CAM software (for generating CNC machine toolpaths) is lacking in the one regard that i need it to to make these faster (and cheaper for you). so for now we will be cutting them out the slow way just to get some done. Next version of software comes out in about two months.. so we will see if that will do what i need it to do to speed things up some. from what I hear it will.

As for Emags- the Emag rail, as is, refuses to flow properly with the Dallara design. I am looking into making our own Emag rails for the Dallara and other body designs in the future, and hope to get them AGD approved. this is the plan anyways.

lastly, the Dallara #001 cant be sold. if you saw the other side, you would understand. i should post a pic of it sometime. Lets just say i used a "discarded" slug to cut it out of. :)

rikkter

The chord v2 was $250 if you didnt use your own body, and that was raw no anno.

Im saying raw, no sent in body or rail, it will be $300 min.

nicad
08-30-2003, 12:53 PM
well yall I have rails but no slugos yet. Still waiting for them to come off backorder from AGD.

about pricing:
Expect the Dallara (with milled body, milled AM/MM rail, and dual AGD detents) to be around $255.

We are looking at dropping the price on our line of Chord bodies as well.

thats all for now-

Anyhoo, if any of you would go to the Deadlywind website you'll see that they spend all their money customizing Electro blowback spyders just for the hell of it. So they can't afford the $1.25 an hour on slaves
(but that's an oxymoron, because "slave" in it's typical sence would get paid $0.00 and their reward for doing their job is not getting their *** kicked by fudruckers eating crazy people)

btw, we love deadlywind!!!

Expect the Dallara (with milled body, milled AM/MM rail, and dual AGD detents) to be around $255.

We are looking at dropping the price on our line of Chord bodies as well.

so your including ball detents in the dallara now!! Ok cool. Now I just need to worry about the vert feed. you said angel feed necks fit right?

nicad
09-01-2003, 12:28 PM
yep DUAL AGD ball detents will be included.
the bodies will take any Angel (WDP) feed necks. There are so many of them out there we figured we'd leave that up to yall.

Splat
09-01-2003, 01:35 PM
Ok, just for posterities sake...

Included in the Dallara body; body, rail, dual ball detents.
accepts; wgp feed necks, cocker threads.

Any milled sluggo (including the chord and dallara) does NOT accept the AGD "twist lock" barrel)

I have another question for you. Will you be providing the anno in the price, or will it be an extra cost?

nicad
09-01-2003, 02:01 PM
Splat-

WDP(angel) feed tube threads, not WGP.
but it is WGP(cocker) threaded for barrels.

anodizing is sketchy right now. it might be available and would be extra. how much extra will be question.

Nicad needs Warp Sluggos, and AGD has stated in the past that they are being made, but won't be available for a while.

I would be surprised to see warp bodies available for order in 2003, but I always plan for the worst...

nicad

no slugs yet.. still waiting....

Sorry the Emag Dallara has been put on hold.. The Emag rail is too goofy to work with properly.

word on the warp slugs from AGD is they will not be made untill it can be figured out how to make them with enough meat around the feed neck and still work on a rail.
So, dont count on any warp slugs/warped products from us any time soon.. :-/

good news is, I have a sample at a new anodizer place and we will see how well it turns out. If its acceptable, we should be able to offer anodized bodies for a pertty good price.

We do have a body/rail combo in the works for an emag.

arowmic

The front of the emag rail is much thinner than an AM/MM rail.
We would have to slope the bottom part of the Dallara in to match up with the emag rail.
Changes the overall look of the body to much.

:) :) :) guess whats making noise right now?

Dallaras are being milled!!!

(yes the mill is right behind me) :)
they should be ready to ship beginning of next week.

please Email me colin@deadlywind.com if you are seriously interested in ordering one. Price had to goto $265 for the body, rail, and dual AGD ball detents.

I only have a few available due to the situation below:

AGD is in the process of making a different rail. that means the stock mag rails (used with the Dallara) are no longer available. If you have a stock mag rail and would like to send it in when you purchase a Dallara, I can knock off $25 of the $265 so you only pay $240. I will strip any anodizing off the rail (required) and mill it with the Dallara body.

I still am unable to get anodizing at a reasonable rate. The bodies will be polished, raw aluminum.

Pics of the bodies will be coming when they are finished.

Yes you can get just the dallara body with detents for $240. It is milled from an AGD Slug body, so it will fit all emags and mags except the old RT.

progress is being made on a Dallara + emag rail milling.. its not exactly the same as this one, but it still looks dam good. :)

No but really... it uses a standard mag rail, there should be no reason the rail by itself won't work on any other body. Nicad is at the world cup though, maybe someone else from Deadlywind can help.

Noticed from the pics that the Rail hasn't been ULE'd.

Any chance of lightening up that rail?

cant say much about the frame. Its a prototype we built a month or so ago.

I know exactly what it is, and that's the perfect finishing touch to one of the sickest mags eva.

Putting angel frames on other guns is fun, isn't it? I had an eclipse LCD frame on my bushy before I sold it, looked pretty cool...

i agree with st6212, you guys should see if you can cut any more away from inside the rail to make it more like a ULE rail and have this baby be featherweight.
