AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
alright i need some answers about the No Rise w/halo b and the Warp i already did a "SEARCH" and couldnt find ne thing so im askin for some help on which one i should choose between? and a good reason why
THE main thing w/ the warp is the low profile ... you dont have the hopper on top. If your a player that you want to be able to just "peek" out and get shots off or do a lot of snap shots the warp rocks.... or if you get a lot of hopper shots.
**Edit** The other thing to factor in ... is have you actually used a Warp? Some people love the idea, but use it and hate it ... some people swear by them (like me).... I suggest testing it.
Personally I like the warp. It naturallly fits into how I peek around each side of a bunker. It works for me really well. I'd say try it, then go with what YOU like.
This is why we need a lot of AO get-togethers. We get to see and usually try(thanx Daroach) other player rigs.
If you go here you can see several pics of my emag - warp setup from a bunch of angles. I have preordered a norise...should be any day. I'll post them when I get the norise.
Well - I can answer competently since I've run both ways. First, I am about as much as a Warp-feed supporter as you"ll ever find. I even sold my AKA Viking (without hesitation) because, due to it's design, it did not position the warp in a comfortable enough position to run it on the gun.
That having been said - I (as I voted) am currently running a no-rise/HALO-B setup and am fairly happy with it.
The issue is weight. I really, really wanted to run my Emag as my primary marker once the Viking was gone. I had the choice of 4 (including Emag) markers to run with. First, GZlassic Timmy (Classic with GZ reg housing) which is a extremely light, fast, accurate marker. I also have a "Raced" Cocker - which is just a ton of fun. Finally, I've also got a V-Feed Shocker.
Every marker had it good points and bad - but the unquestionable favorite was the LX-Emag. The problem is that the Timmy, complete with warp is still a lot lighter then the Emag even without. I had a tough decision because I really, really like supporting AGD at the field and love to show the world what the LX-E can do. The weigh issue with the warp was a tough pill to swallow though - it was just too much.
What I've done in the interim is purchase the no-rise which provides much of what I love about the warp - it makes the BALLOON (uh, hopper) harder to hit. A side benefit is that it feeds wickedly fast with the HALOB.
The is a temporary setup on my road to ULE sweetness. (Cant afford a Xmag) I currently have a ULE rail with Tuna being polished. I just installed my ULE frame and will be purchasing a Xvalve soon. I figure the weight savings will let me go back to running the warp - comfortably! That is my real goal. I am also hoping for a ULE/aluminum body to cut the weight further.
My real goal is to get back to the Warp - the advantage it provides is just indescribable. The no-rise is a good stepping stone and is a decent compromise between hopper and warp.
In either body case (ULE or no-rise) I will run the warp - as opposed to the "warp body." I used to run like that, I but sight down the left side of the marker, and that hose can be a distraction, whereas with the vertfeed a decent "low-rise" warp adapter keeps everything compact, yet feeds into the top keeping stuff (feeds, hoses) off of the side of the gun.

From a poster at PB Nation:
""Jim, back to your cave. Bob Long is on the batphone..."
I have used both, and Cledford, digtard, hitech, & Mr Emag Man have already given excellent answers to the differences...
But, for me, I prefer a hopper sitting on top of the mainbody. It allows me to easily shoot with either hand, balances the gun better, and cuts down on overall weight (1+ lbs) Also, with the addition of any item, there is just more to go wrong. Different paints can reek havoc with a warp feed. Batteries are an issue as well. And if you take a hit on a full feed hose...wel, that's a nasty mess when a ball breaks inside it!
I had 2 warps, on two different guns. I like the hopper on top. I now run a halo "B", soon to sit on a milled sluggo
