        everyone always says books are better, but the only reason people say that is because they have had to sit through hours of reading and they wanna pretend like they are better than you because of it.

        jk =)

          I thought that out of the three that hannibal was the gorriest but not really all that bad. Red Dragon way better than I expected it to be. As always Anthony Hopkins puts on a great performance as well as Edward Norton. There were actually a lot of funny parts(like when that guy was set on fire and rolled down the street in the wheelchair) and me and a few freinds got a few dirty looks during the movie for laughing at them. I think out of the three The Red Dragon was the best with the first one a close second. Hannibal just doesn't compare.

                IMHO Hannibal was gross for two reasons - 1) The fact that I paid $17.55 for my girlfriend and I to see it and 2) that they completely 180ed Clarice Starling's persona.

                PS Jodie Foster ran rings around Julianne Moore!
                PPS Red Dragon absolutely redeemed the Lecter Trilogy.

                  NEVER EVER EVER EVER read the book first! That will always kill a movie for you!

                  Unfortunately when you see the movie first you tend to move too much of what you saw into the abstract image in your head - leading to the book experience not being as good as it should be.

                    i haven't seen red dragon yet. hopefully it will be better than hannibal. silence of the lambs was a lot better than hannibal. the special effects in hannibal were too cheesy to be gross. the only worth while scene was with the pigs. but of course i have been desensitized(sp?) to violence and gore from watching the exorcist and hellraiser so many times
