Foamie or No Foamie, That is the Question

Well, My level ten bolt has the foamie. Now, after several games eariler today, it shot fine with the foamie, nothing different.
A few games later, the foamie popped off and was shot somewhere near oblivion.

So my question is, Foamie, or not?

Other than cushioning the ball, is there any other benefit?
    Thanks

With how the LX bolt is designed it would be best to have a fomie because the ball can roll a little ways back into the bolt. Therefore it would possible allow the next ball to drop a little bit and allow it to get sliced. I really don't think it does anything to cusion the ball. I mean, did L7 bolts have fomies? Did they work fine?

The level 10 will prevent the chops/slices even if you do get roll back.

Most early Level 7 bolts did have foamies. The ones that didn't, had a metal piece in the front to take up the slack where the foamy used to be on the earlier ones.

As mentioned, foamies really don't do much to cushion the ball. If you get ball movement in the breach without the foamy and it causes a problem, then you may need a foamy. Most of the time you will probably be ok without it. Lots of people don't use them and have no problems. Get one when you have a chance but don't fret because you are missing yours.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
