guaging interest in ZAP sleeper type setup

    * frames i do not own and will need test frames.
** dont have and may take more time to spec out
    1st off.
if i do a Zap the mad's type sleeper
would anyone think this would be a problem?

    2nd off.

i will be making this out of aluminum
it will be a direct drop in for all frames listed
    m90
    inteli frame
    z-grip
    ** Dye Ultralight Frame.
    *RPG chimera
    *RPG triton
    *logic
    *powerlyte grip styx
    *y-grip
    Single trigger?
any others you can think let me know, and ill add them to the test platform.

this will use either a delrin ram or a SS 1/4'' ram, not sure yet.
i may use magnets instead of any type of springs. still not sure on that.
    i figure magnet less bind?
i may use a delrin trigger rod not sure yet.

    let me know your thoughts.

these will all be hand made with my machines and hands and tested(NOT outsourced.).
im thinking of trying to do a few newer internals.

any machinists out there that have any and all input on this feel free to criticise and such. or support, suggest, what have you.

anyone else feel free to do the same.

oh and let me know your interest.
    thankyou,
    KNM.

Whatever you end up doing make units first, then sell. No pre-orders.

    +1

I'd probably buy one if it fit a Powerlyte frame.

    yeah no preorders here.
    ima just make on request.
of course ill make sure this is tested.

ill make them as long as i can stomach the repeated work.
so once i get the nitches worked out ill start producing.

    Fry:
    powerlyte.
mag frame or moded to a mag?

I might be interested in one if the price is right (or I have money) when you have some made.

I would think there would be a fair amount of interest as long as they were tested and endorsed by someone well known here. You also have to take into consideration that some people on this site may still be waiting to get their gear and/or money back from Zap.

As always, pricing is a big factor as well.

I also didnt think this was a hand drill/dremel job. I thought some machining equipment was necessary for a good product? I had one of these for a short time and the miling seemed pretty precise, not something I felt capable of doing. I also never quite understood how it really worked though, so that might have been part of the problem.

I am interested in knowing more as I'm not familiar with this mod. I have a Triton frame that I may be willing to send as a tester. Please post more details or a design.

so from doing a little breaking down of some pneumatics i have here i think i found out some info.

the way it looks zap scavenged parts out of the msv2's internals to put in his internals.
the brass screw and the nipple inside.

so i think with some time i can replicate these on my lathe but not sure.
if not ill just have to scavenge them also.

which with my low revenu, may require presale/ deposit.
this is not for sure yet.
if i have to do a presale i may throw this back to the drawing board. depending on the amount people want made.

like i said before nothing is in stone right now but i thought i would let everyone interested know.

it should work out though on my lathe.

One thing that I would change about the sleeper mod is the piston. I'd rather have a SS (or other metal) piston with a return spring, rather than having a delrin piston that relies on the sear to reset it.

Another would be the small amount of "slop" in the pin/switch mechanism.

Don't get me wrong. I love this mod. I just feel there's room for improvement in these areas and since it won't be an exact copy of Zap's cheater, it's a good time to make suggestions like these.

Your idea of integrating a LPR is an awesome idea. It makes me wish I had learned more about pneumatic physics, so I could play with building regs and stuff like that. But all I get to play with is code and databases all day.

yes yes keep the help coming.

found out i will have to purchase me a lathe and learn up on good qulity fundamentals.
and machine all the internals by hand.

we will se how this goes on my proto type and see if it is worth my time.

still not ready to start proto type yet.

mapping and drafting are still in the works.

i might cad somthing up just for precision on the holes and such.

    thanks,
    KNM

I'm in. I would also prefer a SS piston.

I plan on putting it into a Dye Ultralight frame, if that helps.

ill add it to the list but that will be special order.
    I will figure something out.

    on another note.

i am coming up hopefully soon to cut blanks.
ill have to ask the wife to get the cash from her pocket to mine.
    lol

but yeah blanks to be made soon and on to my proto type.

ok so after speaking with a person that i have alot of trust in when it comes to products put out here on AO.

i am going to put this idea in my back pocket for now.

there are issues that may need to be addressed before i even consider making one of these for testing.

thankyou for any and all support on this.

will be in touch if and when i come out with a prototype.

    prototype pic
in paint thats all i know how to use.
but here is the thought process.

    thanyou,
    KNM.
