    Planet Eclipse Splash Parts

    Hey all,

I have some splash parts, specifically a foregrip and rail. The issue I have is finding the right sized screw head to fit. I found the what size the screw needs to be, but the heads of the screws are all too big. I've tried grinding the head down, but I'm not having any luck. I know the size is metric and it's M6. Please help!!

Is it an Automag rail and foregrip? If so you need a low profile cap screw. Threads on those are 1/4-20

Yes, it's a PE automag foregrip and rail.

You likely wont find them at a hardware store, maybe Tunaman or AGD(?) if not, they can be ordered from McMaster-Carr.
Another option is a drill and a grinder. Just chuck up the screw in the drill, spin and grind.
It's not a metric thread though, you need a 1/4-20 thread.

I’m pretty sure they did make some metric ones.

M6 is a little smaller than 1/4" so M6 'might' screw into a 1/4-20 thread. (Just a guess, I've never tried it)

M6 is pretty secure feeling with no wiggle when screwed in. I took the foregrip to the store and tried different sizes. i think standard just doesn't screw in all the way. threading is different.

I'm going to try the M6 low profile and ultra low profile socket screws. I had ordered some low profile from Fastenal, but the heads are a bit to tall. I hope these are a little smaller and work. I will update with if they do.

M6 is the wrong size. Luke had it right at 1/4 x20

So, I received the screws yesterday. some 1/4x20 and M6 screws. The M6 were they only ones that fit. Of those, I ordered low profile and ultra low profile. The ultra's head were a tad too big in diameter to fit in the screw hole. The low profiles fit nicely, but still stick up just enough to where the body doesn't sit all the way flush. It must be a weird, special metric screw that Planet Eclipse used back then. I will continue to work with it.

If anyone has a mag with Planet Eclipse parts especially the rail and either VASA or foregrip, please chime in and maybe put up pictures of the screw in question.

Oh, to be more specific, I have the gadget grip that usually comes with the barrel plug. So the top portion looks exactly like the VASA, winged at the top.

I have cut the heads of those screws in the past. If you want me to turn them down, I’m sure I can.
