Classic mag with a weird trigger geometry...

I was working on a gun behind the counter yesterday and this young guy comes up with a classic mag and asks me to take it home and fix it...

Only weird thing about it is the trigger geometry... check this out:

The trigger is angled back... which is odd... and when you air it up the sear literally touches the trigger...

It shoots like that... rebuilt it last night... but seems very easy to short stroke... suspect it has to do with the sear trigger spacing...

Gonna switch out the triggers today and see what it does... I’ll send pics of weirdo trigger when I do.

Well... put a more conventional double trigger in it and a sear to go along with it... and it didn’t like that at all...

Put the old sear and trigger back in... it was chronoing low which was causing the burping and short stroking... once velocity increased it was shooting good with a crisp trigger pull...

Back in the hands of the owner now... surprising outcome.

I don’t know... if you define junk as something that doesn’t work... this wouldn’t be junk... non AGD, sure... weird, sure... but not junk by that definition...

Like I said... despite the fact the sear has no gap betw it and the trigger, once chrono’d the gun shot great.
