    Swapping Bodies: Automag / Minimag

Question: are bodies for Automags and Minimags “interchangeable”? Ie: can a minimag body be installed onto an automag rail and frame right away or do you need a new frame, rail, and/or trigger assembly?

Any info / advice would be appreciated!

I’ve heard / read I may need to press the quick lock assembly out of the valve (?)

The only time you have to worry about the barrel pin removal is if your going to use ule style bodies, since they use cocker threaded barrels. But if your using a stainless style body than yes classic right feed, powerfeed automag, and minimag bodies are all usable with a standard automag rail and frame. The classic valve can be swapped for an rt valve as well; the automag platform was more or less designed to be interchangeable with various parts. You customize it as you want, that's why alot of us have more than one mag.
