And the Xvalve functions correctly ?

If so that's an accomplishment in itself.

To my understanding it's hard to re-anodize an Xvalve and the valve still function.

I've had approximately 6-8 over the years that were reannoed and looked beautiful...but the customers were all shocked when I tell them their valve is shot and you cant get the field strip screw in without unscrewing the valve halves...which would leak 100% of the time.

I wonder if you could shim the oring or maybe use a thicker one, maybe use a metric oring that's a little thicker?

Would masking the threads be an option when stripping an anodized Xvalve? Or, is that even possible?

Masking the threads/surfaces is pretty standard in anodizing. The anodizer would need to know to do. Unfortunately paintball anodizing is usually not done to any standard.

At work I am always showing mask areas on camera designs i do since the anodize layer does not conduct electricity well if at all. And mask threads is a very common note on the drawings. They use some sort of decal for the mask surfaces and a brush on or plug for the threaded areas.

the wall face is just as important as the threads. any deviation and thickness and the lock pin won't be in the slot anymore. That is why the pin installed after ano.

correct. But the zlock pin isnt really the issue. You can always remove that. It's the field strip screw that is the issue.

Agreed. I basically meant masking anything not showing when screwed together.
