Question Leaking out the bottom hole???????????????

Ok, I bought this Mag a while ago and since my local field has been shut down I have not been able to test it. So Sunday was the first time that the field was open so I went to go play.
I oiled and gassed it up and there was a leak in the middle hole on the bottom of gun next to field strip screw...so I bought a parts kit replaced ALL the o-rings just in case.
Still leaked...so I replaced all the O-rings in the regulator body..still leaked.
Bought another parts kit and replaced all the O-RINGS again.....STILL leaking?????

I am so HOT right now I could toss this thing in traffic.

I watched video and it does not tell you what to do when air is leaking out the bottom middle hole.

    AGD...ANYBODY>>>HELP!!!

So I take it you have replaced every single o-ring in the gun correct? If anything, it's the on/off bottom teflon o-ring. How about the reg. seat? Is that in the right way and in good condition? Gas the gun up, pull and hold the trigger. Does it leak? One thing you can do to determine the exact location of the leak is to gas up the gun and dunk it into a bucket of water. Watch where the bubbles come from and then that's where your leak is coming from.

Sounds like you need to screw the regulator nut in. I think maybe the reg. piston is out past the hole drilled in the reg. body for oil. Did you try and shoot your gun at all? Also, make absolutely sure the reg. seat is in working order, and is put in the right way. Last of all, check the o-ring on the reg. piston. let me know if this helped.

Have you removed the regulator piston? There is an o-ring on the piston that requires maintenance. (it's under the velocity adjuster)

If there's no leak when you hold the trigger back then the problem is in the on/off valve. Pull out the on/off assembly. Two o-rings should be at the bottom. Urethane and white teflon. Then the white teflon o-ring in the on/off bottom piece. and the urethane o-ring on the outside. Provided ALL of these o-rings are brand new, it sounds like something is out of alignment. Call AGD and tell them your problem and if they can't fix it over the phone then send it in. There's only so much you can do over a forum when you can't see the gun for yourself.

if it stops when you pull the trigger, that means it is in the on off bottom, or you have a cracked power tube. Are you positive you assembled the on off right, and that you have the lower teflon o-ring in place? Is your on off pin scratched or bent or obviously screwed up? If not, then maybe the hole was drilled a little out of round or something. This seems like a very unusual problem, like maybe a serious construction flaw. You probably need to send it to agd or your local shop.

It sounds to me like he's saying its leaking threw the "oil hole" on the bottom of the
valve assembly. I don't understand how it could be in the on/off assembly.(?)

There is no way you can tell that it's coming from that hole when the gun is all assembled. Sure it might sound like it's coming from that general area, but I've had people say that their gun was "leaking from the trigger" (whatever that means) when it's actually a powertube leak. If replacing o-rings doesn't fix the problem and you can't seem to figure it out, then send it to AGD and it will come back working.

Well,he did say he held the trigger, and it stoped right?Would that mean the power tube?
He said he replaiced all the o-rings,but no one told him to put in a diffrent p/t spacer.
Mr.Kaye said, leaks come from three areas.

    1.leaking out the back,and eratic fps=reg seat/spring or reg nut/piston

    2.leaking in the middle.On/off valve.
    Hold the trigger,still leaks? yes=on/off

3.leaking down the barrel.Power tube spacer/o-ring/base..The best way to tell if you have a p/t crack..Put in the smallest spacer. If the base is cracked,it will still leak with the shortest spacer, wich should not have any leaking down the barrel..What spacer do you have? Mabey the preveious own had a bolt stick prob and put in a a longer spacer, you should try a smaller spacer.hope it helped

Thanks for bringing us up to date on this. Besides the valve being "junk" did they say
specifically what was wrong? Did they charge you for the replacement valve?

The problem is back!!! Now I have it. I just got a used automag. I am running co2 on a bottomline, into a 4 stage expansion chamber. I have been out 3 times since I got the marker. The first time I had to switch out all the o-rings because the marker would just cough and sputter out. The next two times out there has been this leak that sounds like it is coming from the bottom of the AIR unit, I would think from the on/off valve but with the thing under the rail there is now way to tell for sure. There is air coming out from the hole next to the field strip screw. There is no air leaking out the barrel. When I pull the trigger and hold it the leak is still there. I have changed all the o-rings through out the gun, ensured that everything is back in its proper place, gone through the forums to see if this issue has been addressed and came up with this string. The issue was resolved in this case by replacing the Hurrican valve with AGP one but in my case I have the stock valve. Because I think the problem is in the on/off value I will add two final comments before I ask for your assistance. I do have an aftermarket on/off top. I think it is an ANS product that looks like a crown. I have checked the pin and there doesn't seem to be any wear or abuse on it. Oh lastly I have a spring in the power tube, not a spacer, though I don't know if this would have anything to do with it as there is no leak down the barrel.

    HELP!!!

my situation is just about the same as Gibbs, the dude who originally started this post except that he resolved it by sending his mag into AGD and they determined that it was his aftermarket valve that was messing it all up.

I have the stock valve. I have replaced all the o rings in the on/off valve with o rings from a parts kit. In fact I have replaced all the o rings through out the marker. if there is something wrong with the on/off top, bottom or pin, I cannot see what it is (but for the fact that the exposed end of the on/off bottom is a little scarred and that it is not a stock top (I think it is a ANS top).

Any help would be appreciated. My next stop this morning is to a pro shop to see if they can lend a hand (maybe switch in some parts to see if that will stop the leak). I will keep the forum posted as to my progress on this.

well my personal experiences are just go and put all the stock parts back on....or buy them if u don't have them
i have found that the agd stock parts are better then all the aftermarket ones....
oil everything make sure it's all in good condition and in the right place.....if not send it into agd

Well I took the marker into a paintball shop and the dude there took the on/off valve off looked at things, put it back together and it continued to leak. Then he took apart the reg valve, cleaned the spring pack, re-lubed it and then put everything back together. NO MORE LEAK!!!

I am so jazzed now! So it sounds like from the experience that Gibb and myself had with a leak with the following symptoms:
-coming from the bottom of the marker, in the area of the on/off valve, with air escaping from the hole in the rail next to the field strip screw (if you have your asa mounted on the bottom).
-pulling and holding the trigger does not stop the leak.

Consider: Targeting your reg valve. In Gibbs situation it was a bum aftermarket reg ,in mine it was a dirty spring pack.

Can't wait to play with my non-leaking marker!!!

    Peace...
