nice
"look at a mag body that is 5years old... it will look just like your polished body u just sanded 5years off.."
you do realize when you want your gun proffesionally anodized or chromed they stip anodize the current colors off, just like what we are doing.
ralicea...
what size barell is that?
Surface sanding should not damage your gun as long as you keep a protective compound on it like a rim polish. This will protect the metal. And it is not dull it is nice and shiny!!!!!! All the sanding that we did to our mags was by hand. It would take quite some time to weaken the frame.
You guys are not qualified to do it im sure at least one of you has damaged your mags shooting quality I am going to have mine anodised for free by this company I know but he has been doing it for over 40 years he has nothing to do with paintball but he knows a lot about the material used.
"You guys are not qualified to do it im sure at least one of you has damaged your mags shooting quality"
so now my gun doesent shoot as good as yours because the outside of it is a different color than yours?
So...that guy knows nothing about paintball or paintball guns...it seems he would have a better chance of damageing your marker then these people just sanding it alittle.Originally posted by NeilConroy:

So an anodized body done by a PROFESSIONAL will shoot better than my polished mag?

wouldn't it cost about 10-15 dollars to have the grey paint taken off proffesionally? Is it really worth the sanding?
Why would taking a grey coat off STAINLESS STEEL affect the guns performance? Stainless is highly resistant to corrosion. Anyway, the inside of the body isn't coated, what do you have to say about that neil? Unless you are a dumbass and polish a hole in your body, it will have no effect on your guns performance. By the way neil, you cant anodize stainless steel.

Cockers suck!
the paint on the outside of your body comes off so easy use a very fine abrasive. the hardest part of the whole thing is polishing it. to make it look sweet.

abrasive, like as in sandpaper? my parents don't want me to do it to my new mag :/.. i can though when it gets nicked up. is there any way one can "mess" up? after you get down to the stainless steel don't you just apply the monther mag to it? or what? sorry for all the questions.. heh

i dont think it is possible to mess up using sandpaper, but if you use a dremel it is possible you can take too much off but that would be to hard to do unless you polish one spot for a hour or something.
just stick with sandpaper

Just make sure that you use METAL sand paper
start with 320, then moved to 400, 600, 800, 1000.1200,1500,2000 if you can find them.
Check an autobody place that sells bondo and fillers for your car.
I hated the grey on my mag but I LOVE MY CHROME!!!
