Im reading "To Kill a Mockingbird" now. Its required reading. Im just about done and i dont quite see what all the hype was about. It is an alright book, but i prefer books with more excitment.

As of now my favorite book is the little manual that came with my mag.

    Hi,

I was never a big reader of fiction. I was always found in the non fiction sections of the library reading about fast things like planes and cars. However I was able to salvage 3 of the best books that are scary.

F 451- Bradbury- burn those books for TV gred.
Brave New World- Huxley _ Just reread recently due to the whole human cloning thing.
1984- Orwell- What this socitey has been come. A bunch of conformists

    Later,
    Alan

I'm with you on Marine Sniper Bub. I loved that book.

I also liked Good To GO. The story of Harry Constance of Seal Team 2 in Viet Nam. Also Point Man, the story of Seal Team 2 plank owner, Chief James "Patches" Watson. Both of these books are written through the eyes of the men who lived them with some help from talented authors.

Too many to list. I love to read. History, science, sci-fi, fantasy, westerns, how-to do whatever, reference works for my hobbies. I must have over 1,000 books in my personal libarary. Currently I'm re-reading the "Sten" series of books by Allan Cole and Chris Bunch while eagerly awaiting the next release of ANYTHING from David Weber. I have also begun the slow, painfull process of writing a novel myself. Much tougher than I thought it would be.

Can you give out any info on the story? Sci-fi? Sorry...just a little curious.

Jello- the power of one? i.e. the kid in south africa whose grandfather (his caretaker too) gets put into jail and he starts boxing, and he eventually is one of the best boxers in SA? It was about apartheid, a really good movie, never got to read the book.

    Hmmm...

Well I guess you could call it military fiction with a dash of science fiction.
I won't discuss particulars but the story will be my description of the perfect aerial platform for spying, and what can be done with it. And perhaps what shouldn't be done with it. Oh and this is nothing like the rumored "Aurora" or "Brilliant Buzzard" hypersonic aircraft. No, nothing like that at all...

I think the most daunting thing about the project is the research. I've got stacks of printouts all over my desk, audio cassettes from interviews and referance books. All mixed in with spare AutoMag parts
Fortunately my job allows me three days off per week and that's when I work on the book.

On a side note for you Tolkien fans. Look for books from an author named Dennis Mckiernan. I think you'll like them.

tbone, good choice. enders game was one of the few in recent years i just couldnt put down, had to read it cover to cover. george r.r. martin has a wicked series out right now. song of fire and ice or something like that...just look up his name online, best series ive read in a while. nice fantasy but very harsh...no one is safe. not even main chars. i like that in a series.
