Converting barrels to center-feed

What do I need to cut out to convert a barrel to center feed? Anyone?

the barrels should have 2 different slides, one for power feed and another cut for center feed. Well, at least my barrels from LAPCO do! You should not have to do any modifications!

That's a big negative johansen. Anyone know how to make this mod?

The short and simple is to drill a small indentation at the point in the groove of the barrel where the breech lines up with the feed.Just a SMALL indent,not all the way through.It's typically just after the barrel startes to turn in the groove.

How will does that hold? Any problems?

Yeah,it works fine.It's not like super locked in but it holds good enough,at least for me.I've got half a dozen barrels like that and if your not banging your barrel all over in a game it's fine.On most barrels you can get deep enough without going through for it to lock pretty good.Start with a fairly small bit and go a little at a time.

I've drilled the notch in 3 ss boomys, a stock RTPro barrel and a few other smartparts barrels.All of them fit like they did straight from the companys.No extra play, no unneeded movement.It will work fine, and with no problems.
