    Anybody drive R/C ???

    Just wondering if anybody else is into one of the other expensive hobbies out there... R/C cars/trucks.

    I've got a HPI Pro3 and an Associated RC10GT.

    I'd be interested to see what every1 else has on here.

      I have an old RC 10 Dual Sport. I don't really use it, bought it a few years ago(about 5+) for like $300.

          an old friend of mine used to be like "pro" at rc cars. He was in all kinds of magazines and got to go race everywhere. Made some money doing it too. he had 20 or so cars all the really cool and exspensive kind.

            I DO! I DO!

            I have 2 RC10 T3's and 2 HPI micro RS4's. All four in pretty sweet modded condition. One of the micros has the 540 mod kit, thats the 1/10 scale motor on a modded micro chasis, supposed to do about 50-60 mph. the other is sportin a Grupner 300 big block, and custom batts all around from BlindBatts.com Oh, and both the RC10's are total bashers, my wife and I really wreck em up, when we're not playin paintball that is.
            I also have an RC plane. Its kinda rough though. My first, and Im still learning how to fly. Pretty bad so far.

            ...and I have an, (OOOHH dare I say it) aisoft gun! (ouch, thats gonna hurt, here come the flames, why is it so hot in here?) I have a Tokyo Marui H&K MP5 A4, with a Systema 1000 motor, 9.6V batts, full Sytema gear box w/ bearings, and a 120 spring. It rocks almost 400 FPS. and dead accurate. Next will be an M4 barrel, with a hollowed out silencer to cover the extra length. Then you wont want to play with me any more. lol

            and if your lookin for expensive hobbies, I drive a 1991 Mitsubishi GTO (thats the 3000GT VR-4 in teh states). Its got an HKS blow-off, HKS Super Drager Exhaust, HKS Turbo Timer, and 245 45's all the way around. And yes, its fast as whatever four letter work you wish to throw in there.

            Hows that for epensive hobbies? Do I make the cut?

                My first real R/C car was a Bolink pan car. I've had (and still have, in some cases) pan cars, off road buggies, off road trucks, 4wd sedans/touring cars (probably my favorite class), and monster truck. All my gear was electric, and for a while, up to '97, I raced indoor carpet. My best racing accomplishment was when the place I raced at held a 250 lap figure 8 race. After my first pit stop, I was 11 laps down (popped a steering tie rod off and bent a dogbone). I ended up winning the race by 6 laps, partially because I had one less pit stop than second place, and I had a 4wd truck (RS4-MT) as compared to his 2wd buggy (RC-10). My truck accelerated faster, had a higher top speed, and cornered better.

                  I raced at the national level back in the late 80's early 90's in the 1/12 scale class. I raced in just about every division you can on just about every surface you can for electric cars. I still have them all and they most still run. I quit racing in about '92. Below are a list of my cars, in about the order that I got them.

                  * Hotshot - Tamiya - 4wd off-road (this was my first REAL R/C car and never actually competed with it.)

                  * Boomerang - Tamiya - 4wd off-road

                  * Bigwig - Tamiya - 4wd off-road (almost identical to the Boomerang, except it had a tub chassis)

                  * R/C-10 - Associated - 2wd off-road (converted to a fiberglass framed carpet oval car)

                  * Avante - Tamiya - 4wd off-road

                  * Dominator - Custom Works - 4wd oval (carpet or dirt)

                  * RC-12L - Associated - 1/12 scale carpet road

                  * JRX-2 - Losi - 2wd offroad (dirt and carpet)

                  * RC-12L - Associated - bought this after I destroyed the first one at Lake Whipperwill in Florida (yes, these little things break when they hit something do 45mph)

                  * JRX-2 (converted to a truck) - Losi - 2wd offroad (dirt and carpet)

                  * 1/10 Scale Predator - Pancar (For the life of me I can not think of who made this car) - Carpet and asphalt road and oval.

                  * 1/12 Scale Predator - For the life of me I can not think of who made this car) - 1/12 scale carper road

                  * 1/12 Scale Corally - Corally - 1/12 Scale carpet road

                  * RC-10L - Associated - Pancar - (I bought this just before I quit so I never got to race it)

                  For the most part I used all Futaba radios, Novak electronics (mostly Futaba servo's though), Sanyo batteries, and Competition Electronic chargers. (I did have some Tekin speed controls and a Novak charger also).

                  I started racing on a carpet road course in the basement of a firehall. I have raced on dirt off-raod, dirt oval, carpet off-road, carpet oval, carpet road, asphalt road and asphalt oval. I enjoyed 4wd oval the best and 1/12 scale carpet road second. Everything else I raced cause I could

                  Ok, I think that is more information than you were looking for and all of my stuff is atleast 11 years old
