Besides the freak kit, I guess all of the following are candidates:
JT USA 2-piece barrels ( http://www.jtusa.com/barrel.asp )
DYE boomsticks (the new threaded kind) { http://www.dyeprecision.com/boomstick.html }
CP 2-piece barrel kit ( http://www.customproducts-az.com/kits.html )
J&J edge barrel kit ( http://www.jjperformance.com/edge.html )
Equation USA barrel kit ( http://www.equationusa.com/ms/ms.html )
Evil pipe barrel ( http://www.evil-paintball.com/pipe.htm )
Empire barrel kit ( http://www.empirepaintball.com/html/barrelkit.asp )
Powerlyte Speedline ( http://www.powerlyte.com/hubs/barrels.asp )
OTP barrel kit ( http://www.actionvillage.com/paintba...p-barrels.html ) sorry PBgear is the best I could do
Warped Sportz Avalanche 2-piece ( http://www.warpedsportz.com/warped/8.../Avalanche.htm )
KAPP Kxs series ( http://www.kappperformance.com/products-barrels.html )
Titanium Paintball Longbow barrel ( http://www.titaniumpaintball.com/Barrels.html )
WGP Kaner barrel system ( http://www.worr.com/ ) under "accessories"
Powerlyte Scepter ( http://www.powerlyte.com/shopdisplay...pter&subcat=19 )
Aardvark Snort ( http://aardvarkdirect.com/store/?pag...ae8d757faddf72 )
and I guess the "self adjusting"-type barrels may be taken into consideration...
Pyscho Ballistics Aradus ( http://www.actionvillage.com/paintba...s-barrels.html ) again, PBgear
Xcalibur Slayer, uses ball bearings ( best I could do )
Ronin barrel
edit- added Scepter and Snort for convenience, thanks to ME and magman007Last edited by darklord; 12-03-2002, 05:33 PM.

www.paintballgear.com has several barrel sets, including the Evil Pipe Bomb. However the Pipe is not made in mag yet (Boo, Hiss).
www.blackfootpaintball.com can usually get just about anything, and they have some great deals on the equation barrels.

Someone should make this thread classic so people will know what's out there in terms of barrel sets.

It really depends on what you want. If you want a versatile barrel kit with multiple inserts like the Freak, then you could go with the freak or the equation USA set... but if you're only shooting a small variety, go with the CP kit or the J&J edge. If you can afford it, you could get a boomstick with a few different backs. If you don't want to deal with inserts/front and back pieces, then you could always go with the Aradus or the Xcalibur Slayer. Out of all the kits I'd say the Equation set is the most customizable, but that is just me. Pick one that fits your budget and looks good to you!

Darklord, nice coverage, very thorough!! My favorite is by far the Equation set!! I have shot many barrels over the past 10 years, and none has outperformed it yet!! From accuracy, consistency, to the ability to shoot through broken paint with ease!! I was personaly very disapointed with the Freak set, my old school crown point could outshoot it, and if by chance you happened to break paint in it, you can forget about the whole thing untill you took it apart and cleaned it!! Hope this helps!!E-Mag's on a diet
Stay tuned for Pics!!!

ok i think im gonna go with the multiswitch starter equation set. i get 3 inserts(in bores of my choice) and my choice of extensions and muzzles. now i dont know what to choose
. anybody got some photochoped pics of different barrel combos? or on gun pics? i think im gonna go with the scope+the ek47 tip. thanks also what bores should i go with im thinking .685 .689 .691 or.685 .689 .693 . thanks

Like I said earlier, go with what you think looks the best. That's the beauty of the Equation set, it's completely customizable to how you want it to look (within reason...). As for bore sizes, it depends on what you're shooting. If you only use .689 size paint, I'd go with that first option you gave (.685, .689, .691), since it would be flexible with various weather types. You don't necessarily have to get the insert type back, you could get one of their bored backs. I think it's $8 extra for the insert back for a mag, but I guess if it's going on your Impy it won't matter...

Well, I would hope that more ppl would choose the Evil Pipe Barrel, but like they mentioned, not for Mags yet. They look really sweet with the fades, 5 durable backs (rather than inserts) and are decently priced."Yea, well, if wishes were horses, then we'd be all eating steak."
