    emag solenoid questions

ok well. got back from a scenario, goto clean gun, take off grips. and the c-clip falls in my lap in two pieces.
then i notice a brass sleeve type coming out of the solenoid, and the bottom part of the solenoid sliding downwards.

is this normal for that gold sleeve, and the bottom part of the solenoid to be moving like this?
also, what about the cclip, bad for it to going in that little bit more without cclip stopping it?

The brass sleave is just pressed in, your just going to want to push it bach in snug and then find a new C-clip.

I am not going to say this is normal, but it does happen. If it keeps happening I would call AGD.

Also, make sure your sear in not bent, that could be the reason the sleave pulled out. if you tip you gun upside down and back the plunger and sear should fall/move freely from the solinoid.

That solenoid is toast. If you want, I can take care of it for you.

well when i realized what had happend when i took it apart, i checked to see if the solenoid was bent, and its not as far as i can tell.

Black, you say its toast, but, it works fine when gassed up, of course its not suppose to be like this so, would kind of damage would happen if i continued to use it like this with just a new cclip?

i plan on getting it fixed anyways, and might send you it anyways

        edit:
also, i just did tip upside down and it fell right out(sear) so thats good. but then when i pull the solenoid part down, and pull the trigger, it jerks back up. so, then i noticed if the brass sleeve was out, and i push it down, the solenoid part would move down also, so i pressed them both together and now neither of them are moving again.

temporary fix or am i leading to more problems?

It might work for awhile, but they're press fit parts.

Once they come loose, it's time to replace it. This is fairly rare, so with a new one, you shouldn't expect to see it happen again.

Are you sure about that, because tom showed me once that you can just pull it out and press it back in, I don't know why it would be considered toast. Mine did that a while back and I have not had problems, but hey if you are saying you will fix mine to, by all means let me know!!

well thanks for the input Black, really appreciate it.

also, was the cclip breaking, the cause of all this? i mean, maybe constant firing with the cclip not there, might push on the solenoid bottom part more and end up making it push out, causing it to move downwards, and then having that make the brass sleeve to come loose?

Well, the brass tube isn't too big of a deal, but the coil housing seperating is not good. Yes, it might be a result of the E-Clip breaking.

As to why the E-Clip broke, it could have just been a bad one to begin with or it was not snapped into the the notch on the plunger completely.

                  Black...
How much power does the solenoid need to trip? I put the voltmeter on the battery and it's reading 16.79 volts. The reason I ask is because my gun isn't firing in e-mode or hybrid. The trigger is setting off the HES sensor because I can see the solenoid twitching and the shot counter is reading shots. The plunger just isn't going all the way down to cycle a shot. It will work in manual mode, so I'm thinking I may have a possible bent sear? Any ideas?
