On/off pin length?

I've read that making your on/off pin length a little shorter will make the trigger a little more reactive.

AGD has the E-Mag On/off pin @ .712

I just measured my pin and it is at .7035...

Thats quite a bit off the mark! I noticed that the end of the pin that gets pushed by the sear isn't flat. It seems to be a little worn (very little).

I havn't touched the pin until looking at it now. First time using the Mag was this weekend! The Mag shoots great and does not run away as if the pin is too short.

Whats the minimum reccomended pin length?

Sub 1000 emags have a half aluminum/half brass on/off assembly. They use one oring in the on/off top and a .725 on/off pin.

After 1000, they switched to the 2 oring setup (the one with the quad oring). They then moved to a full brass on/off assembly and a .712 pin.

So if you have a 1/2 brass, 1/2 aluminum on/off assembly, you want .725. If you have a full brass assembly, you want .712.

Micro Emags are a totally different game...just FYI. Pro Team gets Emag on-offs and sands them down with a file...

ProTeam sands them down with a file?...I'd be a little pissed if anything on my $1200 gun was made with a file!

yep... Pro Team sands AGD emag sears to fit their Micro E...they also put a spacer inbetween the grip frame and the body to make it less shaving...

I measured my stock on/off pin from my X-valve when it was new. It was supposed to be .750" but mine measured .747" I know that's not a lot, I wonder what their actual tolerances are.

Just remember- all it takes to have a gun that goes from working to full auto on the on/off pin is .015 of an inch. There is THAT much difference between having a pin too long and one too short.

.747 - .750... Big deal. It isn't THAT precise of a tolerance. A few thousandths isn't going to change anything, unless you're right at the threshold of it going from regular operation to runaway. As long as it works fine, don't worry about it.

No, he means .015". That's like going from a .735" pin to a .750" pin. And depending on the gun that can make it go from runaway mode to normal operation. Think about how much .0015" really is. We aren't making Starett parallel bars here.

NO! please don't modifyit. We've been thru this discussion before. If I can't stop you, please do it right. Use a stone and a good pair of calipers or micrometers to check your progress as you go. remember, if you take too much off, your gun is an illegal paperweight until you get a new pin.

you're running an AGD marker, not a PTP correct?

Correct...its a newer standard E-Mag w/ X-valve and LvX. It also came with the pin @ .7035.
