CO2 on a X-valve

I saw a pump mag running CO2 cartridges on a X-valve, it was a great looking setup. I however was under the impression you couldn't run CO2 on a X-valve. Any words of wisdom, as I am the new owner of a pump mag, and would love to go to an X-valve, but intend to run CO2.

I like to be crazy and try crap like that, what's it gona do, screw up some o rings?

my Xv refused to fire with Co2, it pressured up just wouldn't work. some others may have tried it with good results, I got no results

Ahh, the greatness of mags.

You're not shooting fast so what's the harm? It's not like you're going to kill a solenoid. However as commrad said, be prepared to replace some o-rings.

But, it's a pump mag and why would you need an x valve anyway? If you want it to lighten the load, I feel that's not enough justification in getting one. If it is in your book, go ahead.

i imagine a stabilizer would help here. shotting tat slow should work, are you talking about rrfireblade's pumpmag? the dust and gloss black one?

I've done it..it's doable..but....do not let the co2 burst into the gun, the reg lets it do that, and it condenses inside. if you do, don't touch it for a few minutes. then you can shoot it slowly with only moderate issues.

Fireblade has come up with a way to modify his xvalves to not only use 12 grams, but get 30 shots out of them.

i have an inline stab on my set up, i can use 12 grams on my xvalve without issue, its also a pump

one can run an AKA viking on CO2 if you double regulate it

the recommendation was a stabilizer feeding the sidewinder

On an X mag you could run 2 stabilizers feeding the Xvalves reg
but you might starve it.

The main thing to avoid is getting liquid Co2 in the fiddly bits
