    Mag pistol (not sydarm)

has anybody ever tried to make a pistol out of a mag? im currently feed up with all the pistols out there. either they are too big, have no range, or the mags cost $50, so why not turn a beloved mag into a pistol without spending the cash on a sydarm, if i find one.

ill post design specs later once i get another mag to tool around with.

my #1 question is will a 12g power a classic valve, and if so, how many shots can i expect to get? im hoping for 20 so i can get 2 10rd tubes.

    thanks in advance.

Ive thought about it, and done a few drawings. I found out that to make it the way I want I would be spending ~2-300 dollars in it, and it wouldnt be worth it. Good luck tho.

I've seen it done a few times. Apparently you can get a little more than 20 shots from a 12 gram with a level 7 valve.

In fact, I'm planning on doing the same thing, for the same reasons. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. The way I'm planing on doing it is to mount the 12 gram changer right to the rail using a 1" inch scope ring. Luckily, a lot of the older 12 gram changers used 1" diameter stock...and of course, we all know classic rails have .22 scope rails built into the sides, right?

thanks for the positive words, it gives me hope for the project. i was thinking about just using a 12g adapter screwed into the asa and have the asa mounted to the rail. there were some older rails that had the holes already there but ill probably just have to drill them myself. im going to weld a metal tube to the top for the balls and then run an 8.5in armson barrel. it should qork quite well.

why am i doing this? the tiberius is too expensive and so are its mags. its also too big, much like every other pistol. 3 tubes is too tall (paint, barrel, then co2)

nice bign, have you tried a 12g on it?

Why don't you just do the pump conversion, I mean the mag is already "pistol size" and if you want to run a 12 gram, u can easily find a way to run it, it just seems like the most logical and cheapest way to me, but however you do it good luck.

my friend made one he used stock barrel and a body with a broken bowerfeed then he used a phnatom feed and drilled and tapped it and then ran it off 12 grams

He drilled and tapped the SS bodies?

I'd like to see that one.

this one was on ebay last fall:

                      heres mine:

the sideline stabilizer gets you 20 shots instead of 10

the feed is a pro team products warp adaptor on a right side warp body

if the 12 grams aren't giving you enough shots, you could always run a vert ASA with a 3.5 oz tank. I've been meaning to try that setup just to get some strange looks from all the electro guys on the speedball field.

i've been kicking around the idea myself ... im making some mock up spring feed tubes out of pvc ... i'd planned to mount the ASA on the back of the rail too and use "micro" like fittings between the fittings ... you should be able to get a pretty short line in there with swivel fittings ... i figured i'd just make an adapter for the bottom of the powerfeed if i can get the balls to feed up ...even thought about mounting and ASA with holes on each side straight to the valve and put a 12ie changer in there ...

then lets not forget fireblades comments on tunning the valve for more shots on a 12ie

-devolumize the chamber between the reg and powertube
-recalibrate the reg to run at higher pressures

this comes from the fact that a 12ie doesn't have much volume so lowpressure(after the reg) high volume isn't good for 12ies ...

so what we want to accomplish is higher pressure less volume ...

my plan on this was to use silly putty and crank the reg all the way up and then put in or take out silly putty from the chamber till i get the desiered velocity ... so by increasing/ decreasing the amount of air in the chamber at a set pressure you should eventually be able to find the right balance ...

and all of that to hold me over till i get a pump kit ...

Then take the silly putty and measure how much volume it takes up and make a more permanent solution with plastic/delrin/wood that takes the same volume ...

anything beyond that I would have to modify the output pressure of the reg ... and that would cost more money than i have ...
