    retro valve Anodize?

on the back of the retro valve the aluminum(im guessing) reg assembly. what is the ano job on that is it a ceramic, it has a color a bit like a JJ fulltilt that is ceramic. What was the reason for that color why not black? could it be reanodized, yes no? do the specs need to be tight? could someone plug it up or protect all the internals and just anodize the outside and it would be fine or could you anodize the whole thing. any and all info would help
    thanks

The threading on the valve to the reg isn't a standard thread, you cannot go to the hardware store and buy a bold to go on there (why would you want to?).
The reason for that color, is that it is the color they decided to make it. I think i remember something about it being a special hard ano, which only comes in a few colors, that grey being one of them.
It could probably be reanodized, but would be more trouble then its worth, and yes the tolerances do have to be very tight.
