Pretty cool.
Good stuff!
Here is a suggestion.. can you powder coat them first and them mill it?
The powder coat would probably flake but one could anno it and then mill it and it should work.Originally Posted by BigEvil
Two Please.
I thought about that too but it would indeed flake. I was thinking perhaps applying powder to the machined surface then removing the powder off the face leaving it in the groove, but that would be real tricky. Not sure how clean the finished product would be.Originally Posted by BigEvil
Anno would actually work after machining. Anno the part then lay on a flat level surface, apply dye with a syringe into groove, rinse and seal...Originally Posted by wetwrks
While im interested I know I can't pay a few hundred for such an item. Will all depend on the final price.
Looking good..
We wont get that high, no worries there.Originally Posted by BenoitOWN
if i pay for my two plates
will you send them to me blank so i can get them anno'd
then i send to you to get milled?
will these be numbered?
I would be very interested, depending on price... Anyway you could ball park a price range?

Guys, an anno guy should have no problem anodizing these. The "coloring" of the anodized part is just a dying process that can be controlled. The dye can be applied with a syringe into the groove so it can be a different color than the face.
Sending you the plates before the engraving creates more work than you realize.
I considered it earlier but opted not to; I guess it depends on the overall consensus. It's only money (yours ) right.Originally Posted by knownothingmags

I'd be interested as well! Again, depending on price
I want one.
This would also make a really cool wooden box lid.
Very cool. I wish you could work something like this into some .45 grips.
It would shrink down but it's way too much detail to go that small I would think.Originally Posted by audioSLAVE
you know me i have it so why not spend it.Originally Posted by luke
Many ways to do it, what type of number system did you have in mind?
#1
#2
etc?
01
02
etc?
I dont want to do:
1 of 100 (or what ever)
?????
ill take #1 and #2Originally Posted by luke
I might be interested (pending price). I would prefer that they are not numbered. I'm not really into the whole small number (big wiener) contest.
Is this a license plate for the front of your car ?
no, belt buckle
what about the big number small weiner contestOriginally Posted by bbotts77
If there are 100 made and they're not numbered, then each one is 1 of 100 and there has to be a bit of history following them as to why/when they were made.
If they are numbered, then whoever has an arbitrarily high number such as 83/100 seems to have a lesser valued plaque than the guy with 1/100 or 10/100.
I'm for keeping them unnumbered. Adds to the mystique.
