Did you need me to chime in, or should I wait for you to contact me?
Yes
Chime.......want two black please
I have a prototype one already, but I want a second black CF-reinforced one just to have a backup.
I love this thing, and I would be quite sad if the only one I have gets broken in a moment of my own clumsiness or something.
ill put a thread up in dealer section soon.
so all the buyer will need is a ULE body of course
and a CCI tube.
Any reason why this wouldn't work on a steel body? (after removal of the feed, and maybe drilling a new vertical feed hole) Not that i'd personally want to, but others might want to lol
at least on the version I have (which may be an older design, I can't quite tell), the chamfers where the detent holes are on a ULE body are what keep the snap-on from sliding forward and back on the body. The little arms that allow it to snap on are what hold it in place, and the fact that they wrap all the way around to where the body and rail meet prevents it from sliding left/right.
The problem with using it with a steel body would be the position of the feed hole not just on the body but also on the barrel (I guess this could be addressed with a center feed twist lock barrel, but I understand those to be pretty rare nowadays). I'm also not sure if steep bodies and ULE bodies have the same OD, seems to me that would need to be checked.
on a side note
the picture in the second post makes me imagine a "double stack" tube that loops around 180° upwards to make a second row of "magazine" above the first row... Maybe a silly idea.
no/maybe (have to check.)
not as designed.
but I could change the design to work that way. could be an all in one application in that thought.
that way I wouldn't have to sell two different versions.
make the customer happier.
and allow for either them to use the cci tube threaded in or just stick there 10rnd tube in.
ill run a mock tonight see what can be done.
I am also using a totally different plastic than what CCI uses on their applications where the feed tube screws into.
more robust.

just to clarify, the cci tube threads into these very well.
so if you want one that just accepts the cci tube I am printing as we have been posting.
check out post #2 tubes fit !!!!!!!
I think I'd be up for a black one. Like Cougar, hopefully it can just accept 10 round tubes.
