    touchpad trigger

would it be cool/legal to not have a trigger but a touchpad like on a laptop mouse that is sensitive buy ou still have to push it? i was thinking about this and ou could walk the trigger easy because there is no pull, but srt of a push.

list pros and cons, i think it is a great idea (partly becauase it's my own)

It's been discussed before, and everyone determined that it would be illegal to not have a trigger. Plus SP already has a patent on this

chances are that someone on AO has thought of most of the stuff you can think of, you just dont see it because its impractical

but impractical is so much fun sometimes. I mean honestly, the ability of a gun to fire 31 RPS even though no human can pull any sort of trigger that fast is not impractical at all.

I think my favorite idea is one of my own ( and a couple other peoples as well). The whole using a pneumatic ram to reset an automags bolt, thus making it more efficient. I think everybody realizes that the idea will in fact work. the only problem is the fact that it would drastically complicate one of the simplest paintball markers.

sometimes impractical for one person meens practical to another. Not to mention just too damn cool.

common, this is too easy, listen to what your saying... no human can achieve it... so how is it practical?

was thinking again (uh oh) and wat if you had the ouchpad and then a trigger that would go ontop of it that had two pins sticking out of the back so that it did have a trigger,

its doable, but whats the different between that and a switch? itll take more pressure to apply to a touchpad.

what you MIGHT be able to get away with is a touch pad, but with a very loose cover, with a spring behind it, so it actually moves.
the rule is that the "trigger" has to have force applied on it, and move, so that might be a way to get around it

Its seems that even if you did make this idea work I think it would be too unreliable for practical use. Just from my laptop experience on the mouse pad. Still it would seem like a great idea once it's perfected.
Smart parts already has a patent on it??! Do they even use it??

nah, but idsay theres a pretty good chance withen 75 years touchpads will be intergrated in paintball guns. whether they be triggers or "lcd" screens

Well whatever it could be done but it might just take "a while"

It would be mad hard to get a good string going, you need alittle slack in triggers to get them flying, atleast for me. If trigger are really short I can shoot like 4 bps.
