    Paranoid Parents & Paintball 3

Hm... I'm just wonderin about who actually sent their letters. I've only gotten one so far...

I'm sorta disappointed in the fact that I still can't get my parents to change their minds... Any more suggestions? I try to lay off paintball as much as I can and I work on my grades but it's not enough for them... I just got a 102% test grade and I asked about letting me play paintball more as a chirstmas present and they told me to shut up...

They said they don't need a reason... they just say they don't like and that's it...

You'll Shoot Your Eye Out ...

Sorry, couldnt resist, that is the greatest christmas movie ever (A Christmas Story). Anyway, time is the best thing. If you dont bug them, they will eventually come around (if they are like my parents. I wanted to start playing in 7th grade, they said no and I took it at that. In 9th grade, a few of my friends got guns. I asked them again and they said why not. Just give them time, they might just come around.

I did the same thing as you chef... I started laying it on them at about 7th grade and now that most my friends are buying and/or own a pb gun I asked again... But no luck...

I'm sorry to say this, but I think you have to play there game for a while. Still stay interested in the sport, play as often as you can. Keep posting on AO, and learning about the game. And try another big push to play more again in like 6months-1year. I know you don't want to hear that, but you're parents are probably sick of you bugging them for months after they have made their decision. As you get older, the more likely they will probably be to let you play (they let your older brother play if I remember correctly). Sooner or later you will be able to drive and then you can play as often as you like (most places don't care who signs your slip as long as they are over 18, one field owner used to sign my slips himself every week.). I'm just saying, this has been going on for months, give your parents a rest from it all. They might take that time to reflect and think about how passionate you are about the game. Either way, just stay interested and posting, sooner or later you will get to play... good things come to those who wait.

                Uhh...your parents suck.

That is some of the stupidest stuff - how old are you? Can you drive yet? Just say you're spending the night over at your friend's house and won't be back 'til later the next night. THEN! Go over to your friend's house, stay the night, wake up, go to the paintball field...then go back to your friend's house, take a shower, go home. No one will be the wiser...unless someone rats on ya.

when i first started playing, my parents didn't like the idea one bit... they were always nagging about how much money i wasted and a bunch of other bull the could make up.

2 years now... and they advise me to play, i dunno what changed their minds but they just slowly changed their thoughts about it.

I know you don't want to hear it. However, you are going to have to accept that you have to abide by their rules. Not being able to play paintball, except when their whim wafts your way isn't going to kill you. After you turn 18, you will be able to play paintball all you want.

i would send my letter man... as much as I would like to help. If your parents wont listen to ONE thing their own son has to say, then why will they listen to some 17 year-old they dont even know. ask them if letters from parents or older more experienced players would help. And did that one person's letter even raise an eyebrow?
