New Fastbacks! Who wants one?
by Doc Nickel
Now that things have slowed down a little (there's still lots I need to get done before the end of the year) I've had a chance to chase down some of my other projects here and there.
One of which is new Fastback body kits! I have a buyer interested in a handful, and I'd like to have a few for myself, for various projects. I spoke with the shop that made them in the first place, and they agreed to do a very tiny run- a minimum of 20.
Between me and the guy that wants a batch for himself, we can put together funding for half that. I need ten more that can join in, (or enough people to buy a total of ten more kits) to make a batch run. Any more than twenty kits is gravy- the shop will make a minimum of twenty, but if 22 order, they'll make 22. If 30 order, they'll make 30. And do on.
20 is their cutoff- they're essentially only just breaking even at that point, the shop is doing me a big favor. Plus it's a small enough run that they can squeeze it in between larger runs, to keep the machines makin' chips.
The price is $360 per kit, which includes the body, ASA, bolt with pin, pump rod, sled, Angel-thread clamping feed neck and hammer:
I'll throw in an ASA bolt and O-ring, and sear lug. Or if you'll be using an MQ, I'll chop the bolt pin at no charge. Ditto if you need it drilled for eyes- no charge.
The shop may have some detents and IVG nuts available, I'm going to see if they can throw some of those in as well, but that's not confirmed yet.
They'll come polished and anodized a solid color- a plug and play body. Colors have yet to be determined, but it'll be solid colors only, and we need a minimum of four of each color. (That's an anodizer requirement. I think it's basically one rackful, minimum.) I'm thinking mostly black, with some reds and blues. I can take anything (I'd like a green though) so if the ordered colors are "odd" numbered, I'll shuffle in one of my handful to make the color selections "even".
I'm told a maximum of 90 days from the moment they get the check- it's mainly a scheduling thing, and since it's basically just a favor to me, I can't really ask for rush/priority handling.
So if you're interested, drop me an E-mail. It will be a prepay/preorder, since I can't possibly come up with the whole $7500 myself, and the wait could be as long as 90 days plus. We just need ten people, at a minimum, to join in, but the more the merrier. 90 days already puts us into March, so the sooner the better, too.
So spread the word, ask around, crosspost this to a couple of other 'Cocker-friendly sites, and let me know. I'd really like to get one more run of these out there (partly because I didn't even save one for myself out of the original run!) and I do still get the occasional request for new ones so I'm hoping there's at least enough demand to pull this together.
