    Pneumag Trigger Job

I've had a lot of free time recently, and since I haven't played with my gun in almost two months, I thought I'd mess around with the trigger.

Ever since I built my pneumag this past fall, I've been a little annoyed at the incredible amount of slop in the trigger. (I know.... it's my own fault for cutting the trigger rod too short.) Also, every once in a while, the MSV-2 valve gets a little stuck and doesn't push the trigger rod the whole way out... which means that I have to smack the trigger around to get it unstuck.

So, I installed an extra trigger stop.

Then, since the trigger stop had nothing to hit against, I cut and shaved a little piece of wood and wedged it into the area of the frame above the trigger.

Finally, to solve that sticking issue, I found a nice little $0.60 spring at the hardware store, wedged it between the two air hoses... and presto!

The result? A much more snappy trigger.

    VIDEO!!!

If only I had the fast fingers to go with a fast trigger.... Oh well, that will come in time, I guess.

Nice, I'm taking a cue from FiXel and putting a ballpoint pen spring in mine.

Cyberave and t0nnn have come up with a great magnet mod .

we are in the process of testing it out...i will let you know the results asap

Interestingly i had the same problem with the trigger not resetting once fired, it gave a sort of "sticky" sort of feeling. To solve this i rounded off the edge of the rod until it was as semi circular as i could get it. It seems to be caused by the nature of the way the rod makes contact with the back of the trigger when the trigger is pulled. If you look at the way the rod makes contact the the rear of the trigger you'll notice that the trigger pushes the upwards very slightly. Because the unmodified rod had more surface area it created resistance. Rather than pushing the rod up the back of the trigger shoe smoothly, the extra surface area and squared off end of the rod proved to be the problem. So i rounded off the end of the rod to a semi circle and hey presto it worked a treat! It took some working out though, i spent hours trying to work it out, then it clicked!

Interesting. I might try this out if my current solution fails to work. I've been playing with this thing all afternoon, though, and so far it's been working flawlessly.

I used a clippard SMAV3 in my pnuemag, it has no problem with return strength, but it does have a stiff pull...either way, set up your return magnet like an Emag, you will haveno problems, just drill a hole in the top of the frame and insert a strong magnet for return (or get one from one of the stores selling AGD stuff for the Emag) nothing wrong with the speed on that, and as long as it works every time and its reliable, don't change it!

there will be a magnet mod that requires no drilling and no altering of any mag parts.
                it will be out soon!!!!

sooner then i thought!!!! should have a vid of it tomorrow

wow great idea with the spring and the rubberband, i used those super magnets and reversed the polarity. works pretty good.

I'm very interested to see this magnet mod. You guys have been talking about it forever. You better deliver.

Yeah.... the rubber band is actually for the sear, not the trigger. Without it, the sear will sit in the back position if there's not enough air in the system to work the valve. The pneumatics still work, but there's no satisfying CLICK when you pull the trigger. With the rubber band, it keeps the sear forward, so I can hear when I'm getting off a good shot. Makes practicing a lot easier. (If you play the video, there are a few parts where you can hear the sear bouncing off the piston because of the rubber band... but if not for the rubber band, you wouldn't hear that clicking noise.)

And what he said is true. It helps alot to have the tip rounded a bit where it touches the trigg...

i like the fact you can adjust the sensitivity of the polarity with the distance of the screw. i just have it so there is only one position. also when i grinded down the sides of the magnet to fit in the lever of the mvs, it lost its magnetic field so to say. so i notched out the lever. so no grinding! good work i may have to re-mod mine

Get your mags from Deuydog here on AO. They are super small and strong as all heck too.... And as always you know i like to have room to adjust things. So i try to design my parts that way too....
