A-Mag?

The Tac-8 was a blowforward too.
I think companies have realized that STBBs are too tall for pistols, auto-nelsons are too clumsy, Tippmann-style is too long and nobody would pay for or want an electro poppet-valve. The standard blow forward style can be compact enough to make a small, easily stowed pistol. -
Tippmans site says you can use a A5 X7 aftermarket barrel... So you could add a 10" DW CF to this
or cut it down to >8"

When I saw the pics of the internals, I also thought that it looked a lot like a mag valve. If someone made an automag based clip fed pistol, I might buy it. I know too many people who have had issues with their Tippmann guns to buy one myself.
EDIT: The fact that its blow forward instead of blow-back should definitely help, but I'm still leery of overall quality.Comment

The only thing that worries me is the clamshell body. That's been the stumbling block of modern Tippmanns in my opinion. I forsee aftermarket bodies in the near future.Originally posted by drewkroekerEDIT: The fact that its blow forward instead of blow-back should definitely help, but I'm still leery of overall quality.Comment

Why do you foresee that. Nobody ever mass produced any aftermarket bodies for the 98, A5 or X7.Originally posted by Frizzle FryThe only thing that worries me is the clamshell body. Have you seen the picture of the TPX with the huge gap between the shells? The previous clamshells were larger and had more holding them together, and even though they were cheap zinc pot metal they were solid. If you've held the TPX it shoots like a dream but it feels like a cheap airsoft gun when you strip it.Originally posted by LooperWhy do you foresee that. All I've been able to do is strip it and fire it, but the weak point seemed to be the body.Comment
