Thomas Burnett and 3 otherpassengers on board help take out 3 of the terrrorists on the plane that crashed in Pennysalvania. He saved that plane from carshing into its destanation. Although the plane did crash, it did not hit any thing or ne 1, just an open field. This man is a hero and a new inspiation on us all. he will be remembered. this is a sad day for us all. post replays so i can see what u think about him.

yes. Everyone, 266 people i believe plus the crew and terrorists on the planes all died. Even if no one else died, which did not happen, just the 4 planes alone make this the largest terrorist attack on US soil and maybe in the world.

No...the Hijackers did. The Hijackers set in motion the whole circumstances. I am sure if he could have flown the plane and landed it safely he would have.

The blame for the loss of lives on the plane is solely the responsiblity of the hijackers and others who took part. It was their intent to kill all on the plane anyway AS WELL AS people on the ground.

The brave souls who thwarted the attackers killed no one. Instead, they saved lives by their actions. Think of what COULD have happened if they didn't fight back...

That is certainly one likely scenario Sam. I wasn't going to theorize that they did indeed get control and didn't know how to fly it (likely if it got that far) but that is also one possible scenario.

But either way we agree that the Hijackers "did it" because these poor people did not ask to be in that situation and have to make the decission to fight back. I am sure they did all they could. But in the end, whomever crashed it, did so without using it as a missle and killing more innocent people (the full intent as we know).

So we know for a fact that the actions (whatever exactly they were) of these few brave souls caused an aversion of a greater tragedy. That alone makes them heroic.

what i am speculating that happened, is that the hijackers immediatly killed the pilots when taking over the plane. This is what kept people from overpowering the terrorist, because if they killed the terrorist, they had nobody to fly the plane! In this case, i think the passengers were possibly aware of the terrorists plans to crash the plane anyways, so they took them over anyways.

It has been a sad couple of days we have experienced. There have been many stories of heroism and tragedy that have came across the news and other forms of media. Everyone who has had any part in the effort to recover from this should be considered a hero. It is very easy for people to set back and say "I would do this and I would do that if I was there", but it is a very different thing when it actually happens and you are forced to react. The individual efforts of all involved have shown the world that the Untied States may be bloodied but never broken.

Many of the firefighters and police officers in the area are not accounted for because of the quickness of the collapse of the towers. These men were doing their jobs to help the ones who were trapped in the buildings.

The deaths of these individuals have not gone unnoticed by the public. Posts like this one and others like it will continue to remind people that without the individual efforts of otherwise ordinary individuals there would possibablly be many many more deaths involved. My heart goes out to my fellow brother Law Enforcement Officers as well as the EMS crews and the normal citizens that decided to put their own fear aside and sacrifice their own lives to save others.

I aske that all AOers please remember the efforts of the officers that died in this attack next time you are stopped for speeding or have to wait in line at a DWI checkpoint. These men and women are risking their lives every day for you and your families.

FYI---On the news, the FBI spokesperson said that they found out that the plane in Pittsburgh and the plane that crashed into the pentagon were both headed towards the WHITE HOUSE. They intended to crash two planes into the World Trade Center, and two into the White House.

I think a memorial should be put up for the people and the people who helped like officers and thomas.i feel so sadend i didnt even realize it but today the intensity of this hit me liek a rush and i feel personally effected now.I have to say the people liek thomas and people risking there lives to help these people have my prayers along with the people.
