New age (3d) desktops, pics and movies!

Say hello to a true, 3 dimentional desktop, it happens to be mine.

Instead of a flat panel, 2d work space, I now work in full 3d. I can move forwards, backwards, look up, down, left, right and any diagonal I want. Simply double clicking a window brings it into a 2d space. Double clicking anywhere else shrinks the window I was working back to where it was in the 3d space.

^^^ website, has some cool pictures as well as movies.

Note, all the forums that I whore are on there

No thanks, looks ugly. I'll stick with alt-tab, less resources.

That would be great.......on a 60" Plasma display.

      On a typical 17" - 21" I'm thinking.......cramped.

Okay, THIS is what I mean.

Download the video and jump halfway into it. To where he is demoing the lookingglass software, and tell me that that isn't worth the money. Just to play around with.

Actually, I think it's kinda interesting. With this desktop, you can easily access applications, folders, etc without having to cycle through alt-tab, move windows around, minimize, maximize other windows, shuffle things around...you know what I mean. With this, you zoom back, click onto the application window and you're in it. Sure, taskbar comes to mind...however, the more apps you have, the smaller the tabs become and becomes very cluttered very quickly.

I just prefer the taskbar, but I try and keep the amount of apps to a minimal. I hate when XP groups all my IE windows together into one tab.

                            Z-Man, your right.

With Apple Expose, you just go to one of the corners, (you choose in System Preferences) and it shows you everything you have.

Z-Man, do you have the hot corners enabled?

Now, my view on the Globe desktop:

Take it with a grain of salt:

I think that it is the dumbest thing ever made. Totally Pointless. Totally eye-candy. Pathetic on anything less than AT LEAST a 40" Plasma or similair. Would look horrid on my 23" Cinema dislay. You can't exactly read everything that well like that.

Ok, nw this will be very cool when we start to use holograms for displays. Just not till then..

                            ????
Why do you have it set for double clicking to go back to 3d. If you can, set it to F-11 or something.
