How AOer's Treated the Facilitys....

Skreemer, 314159, Erin and I returned to the AO pavillion after the awards ceremony to find one table completely covered in boxes and trash.

Every table was a mess. Completely and totally. After a quick look at the other pavillions I could see from there I got a little upset. Everywhere else appeared to be at least mostly clean.

I understand being a bit angry at how the place was run. For example the air fills and the paint quality. But that's no reason to take it out on the refs/staff. It took us and two staffmembers twenty some minutes to get the aera into any kind of shape where ANY OTHER player would like to sit there.

It looked like a tourny team had been there.... that's not a compliment. And it leaves a bad impression about forum members who are supposed to be intelegent and in general "nice guys." I'd like to be invited back..... And this isn't the way to do it.

It comes down to, clean up after yourselves. if there isn't apropriate trash containers availalbe, at least pack up the trash into a paint box so it's easy to clean up.

I am realy steamed to hear this for certain. When I was in NJ at Mel and Steves field I saw some of that too. I and my few not only brought our own large trash bag, but we stayed and bagged up our trash (and many others left around our area) and took it to the truck. Steve, you could tell, was very appreciative of it.

Fella's it is time to make a new vow. AO'ers will set an example of respect and neatness. There will be no exceptions. That is an order...

I am coming down on all paintball players about trash in ALL the fields i have seen...and especialy those who use our name and leave the impression it was us. It was our area. That is who is getting aimed at. If the shoe fits then wear it. As I stated before: "That behavior of those few idiots reflects on all of us". Like it or not.

This is a subject I been meaning to bring up for a while now. Thus the rant!

I've never had any problem telling people to pick up their trash. I've embarrased my wife and kid by yelling at goofs that just drop crap on the ground, even though the trash can is 10ft away.

Subtle, yet with feeling. Our old local field was a personal quest of mine while I went there, and woe unto you if I was reffing that day, and you didn't think I would see that soda can get tossed to the ground....

I have no time for lazy dorks that can't take care of themselves, much less that which belongs to others.

It would have been nice if they had provided enough trash cans to use. On several occasions I was walking around with rubbish looking for somewhere to put it Often they had drums, but they weren't cut open to be filled? It's no excuse but it makes it very hard to clean up if there aren't the facilities to do it. There should have been way more trash cans accessible.

And while we are talking about the facilities...

The staff numbers (there were not enough for an event of such a size) and organisation of the facilities for such an event was in many cases appalling. Only 2 chrono's for hundreds of people to chrono in on? You have to be kidding me, it was maybe a 45min que to chrono and I only just made it onto the field at the start. Many did not. I completely missed the starting speaches due to huge lines for chrono and paint. Many people were still in those lines when the event started. The only people who were made to chrono were own gunners = Borg team... most of Mancow's and Shatner's teams were shooting rentals...

The air boosters were down on the Thursday. That's two whole days before the event to get them fixed. Air America is within an hours drive? There is no excuse for such appalling AIR facilities. Anyone who attends a big event with own gunners knows it's one of the most important issues. The AIR situation at CPX was disgusting. It took at least 20 minutes in the heat to walk down to the feds base to get an even vaguely decent 2800psi air fill. I lost count of the number of times I left the field due to being out of air! (actually when I ran low I'd go blast a few people out or bunker a key position and then leave... thanks to all the the feds who thought it would be fun to light up my groin after I mugged out 5 players from a ditch in Bedlam... and thanks to Shannon who took me shopping to buy a CUP after I forgot to bring mine 'phew' )

Running out of 60$ paint by 7.00am... running out of 80$ shortly after so that people who paid 100$ or more to attend where then paying 100$ per case?

I didn't see the mess that was left after we staged, I got out of there as soon as I could, but one thing is for sure the facilities OWED US big time.

I had a blast and considered it a privelege to play with you guys, but the let downs of this whole event were on the facilities side. We shouldn't have left a mess, but CPX shouldn't have treated us so poorly either.
