Sounds like an easy case to me. About the biodegratabilty of paintballs, just look on the side of the box, there is plenty of info there. -
What state are you in? My dad owns a fence company and I work for him, maybe I could help with legality.AO #765

Good to know that somone of Tom's status seeks "relief" from a sport he helped create. A sport now ruled by a single patent.Comment

Well first i hate people like that. But what you are doing with the taking pics of hi cuting trees and the cigeretes should work. My opinion i think you have a really good chance. Have fun eating them tasty paintballs

my friend has a neighbor like that, we have an awesome speedball field there, but it faces this guys property and his shed has gotten shot once and a few paintballs have landed in his yard... well the guy took a picture of the paintball and made a big comotion to my friends parents, so we had to put up a tarp, but thats all ripped, so we cant play there for now. Even though we offered to clean anything that went into his yard. Oh wellLevel 10, ULE bodied, X-Valved mag

Call or e-mail any of the paintball companies and request a MSDS sheet for paintballs . They are required by law to provide this info."It's my buddies gun"
"I just bought it"
"It came that way"
"I borrowed it "
I HAVE HEARD THEM ALL, SO BE ORIGINAL !!!
My gun says I'm holding it back from doing great things ...

Unfortunately, that jerk does have his rights, and will sue your Mom if he gets the chance. Another thing you gotta realize, is that your Mom (and her homeowner's insurance) can be held liable if anything goes wrong while playing there...like if someone gets hurt. Might be best to just give up the field

you could E-mail RPS or Draxxus and request info on the biodegradablity of their paint, and i would imagine they would help you out. (maybe tell them you are doing a school report or something, i dunno if they would want to help out if they knew it was for defending an outlaw field)
is your property in a sub-division or non-sub ?? if it is in a development their might be some restrictions on what you can do with your property so you might be in trouble there anyway.
something that might help would be to clearly mark the boundries of your playing field, and find out how close that is to his property line. knowing that, and how far a paintball will travel at your field FPS limit at differnt elevations would help you to present a solid argument that there is (or isnt) a chance of a bystander, inside of his property line, getting accidenttly shot, and if so, what kind of damamge could be done if a ball made it that far and hit someone or something . . .
another thing you could do would be take pictures of your playing area before you play one day, then after you play, then the same spots before you play again the next time, to help establish that the paint has no permanant, or even long lasting effects on the local plants and wildlife.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think 888 paintball sells field netting, try getting some of that and stringing it up along your neighbors property line, that will take care of most of the paint and make you look better. The pictures are a good idea, also if you can get some documentation of that last court case he was in it will work against his credibility in court. Have someone take pictures of him waiting to get hit while you guys play too. Try tape recording conversations over the issue too, just tell him your recording it.Comment

This is what a freind of my dad did when he thought he might face stupid criminal charges. File a big lawsuit (harrasment, trespassing, or whatever you can think of)and have a lawyer call and inform him of it. Scares the heck out of lots of people and theyll drop what theyre doing.Last edited by Army; 04-21-2003, 02:51 PM.
