Do you think the learning curve for paintball is high?

is the learning curve in paintball relatively high to a first timer/outsider?

I think to the average person its is not that high.

    a secondary question would be

Which has a higher learinig curve? woods or "speedball"

It depends on which type of paintball you're playing.

Start a flame war, or no...

I think I'll pass on this one.

I hope I'm not the only one that doesn't understand what a learning curve has to do with paintball

well, im willing to say there are more variables in woodsball, but the learning curve is higher in arenaball

also, this becomes a flame war when you want it to. being civil aint that hard.

well, recognizing there is a system or a means of become better at something is one of the first steps of getting better.

It just takes 3-business days... ground shipped.

All you have to do is buy DYE pants/jersey, a DM5, etc... wiggle your fingers, play through hits, curse, talk about your mad skillz, and throw your equipment from time to time.

damn, really? so what do i have to buy to be cool now, HK stuff?

i dont think the learning curve is too bad in paintball, although its definately higher in speedball... or maybe thats cause i dont really play woods.

I will say this I am oldish (36). I only started playing like 4 years ago and it seems to me that I never get any better. I have been playing darn near every summer weekend I can for those 4 years, and I still get mowed pretty regularly. Myabe if I had started younger it would be easier, but I would say it's a high learning curve. I should also point out that although I started with the intention of never playing anything but woodsball, I no longer have much patience for it unless I am playing with a bunch of like minded people. Just my $.02

I can't afford Dye gear but am very happy with my denim JT pants

I was able to learn about paintball and how all my guns work very quickly.(Then again, Im not afriad to break them).

Well, IMO, speeball takes longer to learn all the little stuff and perfect it.
Woodsball, how you have to know how to do is hide, and be quite.
