AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Dye Rotor or Empire Prophecy....? Whats your prefered hopper?
They both work beyond what we ask of them but in the age of "It's got to look good as well as work good" I think the rotor sits nice on top of an Automag. But that is "personal preference" which, if you include a $1.25 of your own money, will get you a soda from the vending machine where I work.
Well after reading a bit....I like that the rotor seems to have better battery life and on AA's. I have quite the surplus of rechargables so this is a plus
Rotor: Fastest besides the Q. Amazingly quick and durable. Overkill if you ask me.
------Negatives: Hates reballs, looks ugly. It holds only 175, not synched to gun
Pulse: Just about as quick as the rotor, holds more paint, and is synched to gun. Best for electronic guns IMHO.
Halo w/ symbio or cheetah: Also very good and on par with a pulse, and is synched to gun which is a plus.
I personally think that since youre only going to hit a max of 26bps in E mode, any of the three are good, but anything above a halo is overkill.
the rotor is no where near faster then even a halo B. the prophecy is MUCH faster then the rotor.
Cockerpunk I would like your Scientific Proof please...
I have had 0 problems out of my Rotor(version 2) and it feeds my '04 Viking and my MAG on a ADG Flatline fast enough and has never skipped a beat... Others players I know that are on this forum that own a Prophecy have had a slew of problems with theirs...
So please further enlighten me and the rest of us Good Sir...
Well in that case I like the Rotor... I don't shoot lots, so I don't need uber hi-cap nor uber speed. I want simple and reliable and still battery efficient. I don't mind a revi either, but force feed is nice sometimes.
I always borrow Z's or WK2's rotor... Works just fine and no hiccups.
Price: Prophecy is $50 cheaper.
Customizable: hands down this is a more sophisticated hopper and will work great on default but also has a lot of tweakability.
Simon: I was leaning rotor, but the fact that Simon himself got on AO and personally talked about his Prophecy impressed me. Great customer service.
Intelligent: Prophecy can be altered to be very light on more brittle paint, it can also be synced with your marker, and use IR and Sound Activation.
Cons: I like the look of the camo rotor better than the prophecy. Prophecy doesn't have a camo shell yet, but it looks like they will be releasing one.
Not as simple to take apart as the rotor, but trust me this takes 2-3 times at most of breaking it down before you get the hang of it.
The rotor is a great hopper, but those were my selling points personally. Either way you are going to love your hopper.
1) Rotor - release version. worked great, no jams. however no matter how fresh the batteries where or how strong the tension spring was it would not feed much over 18bps.
I like to mess around in the back yard and push my markers for speed so bought a prophecy.
2) It is lighter, I loved the large capacity, however I have had problems with it feeding inconsistently, it has trouble hearing my Clone(silly Macdev for making a stupid quite marker). It got to the point where it would work great in the crono area and then screw me in a game. If its not jaming balls into the breach and causing ball breaks its not feeding at all. It now sits in a box, I need to send in into KEE to get looked at.
3) Bought another rotor new and V2. Sits super low, super reliable, battery life is crazy awesome. But still cant shoot faster than 19bps no matter what I try.
My pick is a rotor, I just wish they where faster for when I like to screw around in the back yard.
