So they want $5 per person held on a credit card with a minimum of 13?

How much is the balance per person? (total cost per person)

They mentioned an increased price for day of add ons. How much?
To me it reads that it's $5 per person plus the $20 field fee and then 10 for air plus the booking fee. Is that right? Anyone played a private group there?

why do some of you SoCal guys feel the need to be jerks about the event? Would you rather have your own? Anything mentioned by someone else seems to just be tossed out the window as being stupid or gay. Doesn't help.

I would like to know who you are reffering to?

I won't take offense if it is me you are talking about. But if it is me then I would like to answer the questions you have asked. If it is not me then I won't spend time to respond.

Could you also refer to which ideas have been tossed out the window.

I guess I understand the fascination with Chevy's but that is a longer drive than you think. I used to live down there. The El Torito is right there and I bet they will have a large back room if someone wants to check.

To me this just seems like a better alternative that driving for 45 min. which is more realistic.

It is 30 miles away and trust me when I say that LA traffic is 10 times worse than anything you guys can imagine
          ......You know you want one!!

Their site doesn't make sense about private groups just what I posted.

Basically it's 25 per person on a private group, they take the money.

wether air is included or not I forget.

You know sandfreestyler was very generous to offer us a paint deal, and offer to bring it to the field for us, I highly suggest you guys support his efforts by posting in his thread concerning the paint details

                  PM sent.

I think people are getting confused about this. This meet has changed a little bit from its original planning.

As it currently stands, the entirety of the NorCal crew is coming down (something that was not originally planned). Presently, if the SC Village meet is any reference as to what we can expect, SoCal will make up some 20-30+ people alone. Add to that the 10-15+ NorCal people who are coming down and we could very well have 30-40 people playing. Now I don't know this place you speak of, but I do remember back in 2004 when we tried to reserve a place for 40 people to show up at.... it didn't work well.

There are 2 reasons I was looking at Chevys.

1- I like it and it is a NorCal tradition. I do not assume that everyone wants to go, especially those of you who want to get home on Saturday at a reasonable hour. But it is something that I believe we would like to do. 3-4 years having not talked and this could be the dinner after the epic first reunion game. Traffic is something to think about and if it is indeed closer to 45min driving 1 way to get there I would likely change my tune... if, however it is closer to 20-30, especially since we will be grouped up in 2-3 cars talking, I think the drive will go very quickly.

2- I don't know of any place (other than a fast food joint with no real seating for us) that will handle those kinds of numbers out of the blue. I suspect that after the game most of the SoCal guys will say their goodbyes and drive home. And that is ok, I don't expect everyone to come. But as I mentioned before with the newly reunited NorCal group, we want more time to talk and chat (far more than most of you care to sit around I'd imagine ). So why fret over this? Do you REALLY want to try and have a big dinner? I don't see why we can't I just think it's going to be hard and that someone is going to have to put down their credit card or something to secure this.

So it's not so much of a "I don't care what people say I'm doing this" as much as I think only the North side of this event wants to "shmooze"; what better place than eating "El Machine" dry?

Can we please drop the food thing before anyone gets mad and things start to brew? Why doesn't everyone bring their own food just to be safe, and if a group dinner comes together at the field then we can do that? I just don't want things to get out of control and us not having a good time over a dinner idea.

Z-man: I think you nailed it on the head. If a couple of people want to go one place and a few want to go another, then let it be. We all don't have to go out to dinner afterwards, it was just a thought. I know that if people aren't going to a place between the field and my house, then I will not be attending due to I don't want to drive there and I will not have that much money to go anyways.

As for the price for private play, I would recommend everyone bring like $40 just to be safe (entry fee and all day air). That way if we do a private game, the cost will be covered and if we don't, then we will have more money for food and what not. If we do a walk-on thing but want to change over to a private group, I am willing to be the referee for it as long as I get a few games in.

Z-Man- Thank you for the clarification. I now understand what your plans are. I initially thought we would try to be a group. This is why I was not too keen on waiting for people to clean up. As you said plans have changed. I'm coming for a day of paintball and whatever happens happens.

Loguzzzz- Perhaps you, lasrsktr, and I (& anybody else who would like to come) can head to el torito. If you come down are you going to stay the night or drive home after dinner?

Sandfreestyle- I'm not sure if we can just show up with money in hand and get a private group. Most likely they will require a credit card in advance to reserve us a referee.

Is anybody willing to put up a credit card to get us a private group?

If the answer is NO then we are playing walk on. End of story.

If someone is willing to step up with their credit card I will call cpp and get all the important information.

                              Whee McGee,
I plan on attending with halocrazy, magmandylan and Sir Magsalot.
I may be able to entice some more attendees but no promises at this point.

Turning out to be a hell of an event, already with bad blood and all, lol you know this was supposed to be socal and norcal but it looks like it will always be a versus game, lol. I don't care where we eat, as long as it relatively close and don't mind a buncha dirty ballers

We still need more people to pre order paint from sandfreestyler
